This 1978 Mercedes is in very good- excellent condition for its age, and hard to find with low miles. I purchased the vehicle from a local estate auction from a couple who owned only Mercedes Benz and cared for them like they were their children. I am the second owner of this gem. The body and interior of this vehicle is very good to excellent condition. The paint is original with very little fading. There are a couple of very small dings on the truck lid and paint chip on the hood. The mechanical condition of this vehicle is very good - excellent; runs and drives like a dream. On 06-12-2012, I had the air-conditioning fixed and repaired speedometer. However, since the repair of the speedometer, the odometer is sticking; I understand it is not uncommon for this mechanical issue for this particular year. I have not driven the car in order to keep the integrity of the actual documented milage. Tires were new in 2004 and have a little over 2,000 mile. Rubber seals around windows and doors are in very good condition. Car will be sold with original Mercedes Benz floor mats, first aid kit and all original manuals and service records. As an added bonus, I will also include two prints commissioned for Mercedes Benz by the famous automotive artist Ken Dallison, illustrating the two classic Mercedes automobiles of yesterday- 300 SL Gullwing and 560 SL. These prints were included when I purchased the car in 2004 in the original print tube. This car is a beauty and has been very well cared for. It has never been driven in the winter and has been garage stored and covered. It will be sold as is.
