Vehicle Detail

Intro: For sale is this very nice, original, and well taken care of 1983 Porsche 911 SC. This 911 is mechanically in excellent condition and cosmetically very presentable. It has plenty of life left having traveled only 84,000 miles and having been maintained properly (receipts included). Some proper improvements per recommended by experienced Porsche enthusiasts (like the gentlemen over at Pelican Parts) have been made to increase reliability/drivability. This 911 is ready for a new home and ready to be enjoyed as is! Videos: Multiple clips are provided to better show this 911's condition. Please copy and paste each link. 1.) 100% cold start in garage. Starts right away, sounds great, and idles smooth without pushing the throttle pedal: http://youtu.be/NzrF3o8vdls 2.) Driver side. Idle & Accessories: Sun roof, windows, blinkers, etc. work and engine runs great. http://youtu.be/kM148tfXXO0 6.) Driving clip: http://youtu.be/sC8UyN3AynA Images: 65 high resolution images of this 911 SC are hosted via PhotoBucket. There is a sampling of pictures below. The rest can be seen by copying and pasting the link to the album: http://s1074.photobucket.com/albums/w406/OldSkoolFool83/ Images include exterior condition, close ups, interior, under body, engine bay, etc. Please look through all of the images. All were taken within a week of posting this listing. Exterior Condition: The finish on this 911 is named QuartzGray Metallic (code L662), which has a clear coat and is the original color. It is an attractive, uncommon, and classy color available only in ’83 and ’84. The finish is quite reflective and smooth. Very straight when looking down the side. The finish lacks major flaws such as peeling, large cracking, rough texture, significant oxidation, and etc. It looks practically perfect from 7ft or so away. It still looks great when in closer view but then some chips can be seen. The main points of wear on the paint are typical chips on the front end of the car and some other areas of typical chips/scratches. There are some scratches on the passenger door about 2/3 of the way down that run horizontally. The chips and scratches have been touched up and are difficult to see. On the passenger rear quarter panel where it flares out for the wheel, there are a couple other chips that look to be from stones and a couple left very shallow dings that can be seen if you are looking for them. Other than that, the finish looks impressive. For example, the roof looks practically perfect. Driver door practically perfect other than some typical chips along the edge. Other body panels straight, smooth, and reflective. The pictures and video clips show that the finish overall is very presentable and can be enjoyed as is. Notice the quality of the reflection of the book on the passenger door. The car does look as good in person as it does in the pictures. The body on this 911 is impressively solid. It is not in need of any rust repair and shows absolutely no evidence of past rust repair. The floors are completely solid and dry top and bottom. Rockers panels are straight and solid. Absolutely no bubbling found on any of the exterior sheet metal (ex: windshield surround, bottoms of fenders, door lips, etc.). The front trunk area low points are dry and solid. Door jams clean. '83 I think was one of the first years when Porsche galvanized the steel bodies. Body gaps overall line up nicely. Doors, hood, engine cover, and fuel filler cover open and close nicely. Looking down the side of the car, the sheet metal is nice and smooth the whole length of the car on both sides. Glass is excellent and every piece is original to the car. Weather stripping, window frames, handles, trim, and lenses are all very presentable and not in need of attention. Black around the windows is still a nice rich black as is the whale tail. Rims are nice BBS units that look excellent on this 911. They are correctly staggered being slightly wider in the rear. Engine bay is very clean and unmolested. Factory decals still present. Front trunk is clean as well with spare tire and Porsche air compressor kit present. The body on this 911 is impressive.Interior Condition: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE If you have never owned a 911 SC, they do live up to the hype. These cars are high quality sporting machines. It feels like it was built out of a solid chunk of sculpted metal due to the solidity of the chassis and lack of creaks and rattles. Handling and braking performance is top notch for the era. While offering a sporting ride, it is very comfortable and quiet. Plenty comfortable for extended trips or daily driving. The engine is very versatile offering great response at any RPM. It pulls very smoothly. The sound is very unique. The visual appeal of these cars is obvious. 1983 is the last year of the SC thus numerous quirks were sorted and they tend to have more of the options. This example of an 911 is as stated, a very presentable machine. It is good to go and ready to be driven. I have personally taken it on 150 mile plus day cruises and would have no doubts about driving it anywhere. I have attempted to set the asking price fairly according to multiple considerations (mileage, condition, recent sales of comparable 911’s). Serious buyers with questions or wanting to arrange a showing can feel free to contact me. Clean title in my name. For questions, please call as I will be able to respond much more quickly and give better details (do not text). Car is located in zip 53221, Milwaukee, WI. I am close to Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee.
