Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 Production History: This 1966, Porsche 911 #305368 is the 267th produced car in ’66. She was delivered to Glockler Porsche in Frankfurt, Germany. The engine number is 901 301 101 0 R, the engine type 901/01. The transmission number is 901 101 101 2 R, the gearbox type number is 902/1, engine capacity 1991 cc. According to the “Porsche Book” by Lothar Boschen & Jurgen Barth, published in 1977. These numbers represent a matching number factory car. Specifications: According to the colors produced that year, the car was originally Irish Green # 6606, with a black interior. It has the original Motorola Solid State radio. It has the original 40 mm down draft triple Webbers with all appropriate linkage and air box assembly. Owner History: We have no record of the first owner. The second owner, Mr. Craig Beckman, who resides in California, purchased the vehicle from the original owner in 1986. I am the third owner and I purchased the vehicle from him in 1993. This car has been in California it’s entire life. She had originally black and yellow California plates, # “RLD 911” but DMV seized the original plates because I only had 1 plate for the rear and when I registered it, California changed the law and requires 2 license plates, front and rear! Since the second owner, she has always been garaged kept! Documents: CLEAR California title!Engine and drivetrain rebuild and restoration receipts totaling approximately $16,000.00A rare 911, hard cover, specification bookNumerous other body, trim and mechanical receipts. Body Condition: A California car since new, it is virtually rust free for an early '66. There was some rust under the battery tray on the drivers side near the torsion bar mount, however the battery tray and front pan were professionally replaced with a genuine Porsche part. This was the only rust area, inside and out, thorough out the car. Touched up original undercoating in some areas including the floorpan. No rust holes anywhere in the floorpan, back seat area, and rear torsion bar areas. These areas look as clean and original as you would expect a California driven car to be. I disliked the original “Irish green” color and my friend had a black 365c, so I decided to refinish the car Porsche factory 1966 # 6609 black. In Glasurit-#54 line base coat/clear coat. I picked a reputable shop that specializes in German cars only, in Concord, California. I chose them to refinish my Porsche. They completely disassembled my car, then sanded the original paint off, fixed all dings and primed it with Glasurit MS primer. The car was then hand block sanded, twice to make the body perfect! Then they painted it with Glasurit #6609 BLACK. After, color sanded it smooth with 2000 grit, wet/dry, paper and polished it to perfection! I had all this work done in 1995. There is not a wave or ripple in the entire car! (*See pictures) No signs of sand marks, pits, or bubbles, even though the paint is 17 years old. The shop reassembled the body, with all new rubber, deco trim and needed chrome parts! All exterior and inner doors, trunk and hood rubber has all been replaced! Has ALL original body panels! Headlights are new original Euro H1s. Thanks for your interest, and happy bidding! On May-22-12 at 11:56:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Special Note: According to a number of Porsche enthusiast that have written in to us, our description of the engine number is incorrect! We made the mistake of going off the case casting number witch is 901 301 101 0 R, This according to reference book illustrates this as a 1965 Case Half. The real engine number that is located under the right side fan housing is *6195044* witch makes this engine a 1968 Type 901/16 Case. We have found a proper serial number case *909869* For Sale by our Porsche parts group for the price of $2,500.00, The phone number is 800 767 7250 ask for Spencer. Sorry for the mistake sincerely the Owner On May-22-12 at 17:20:01 PDT, seller added the following information:
