This is an awesome 1949 Mercury Lead Sled originally built into a sled in 1984 and has had an on frame restoration in the spring of 2011. The restoration included complete repaint, interior, side window glass, window channels, "whiskers", Lokar shifter, am/fm/cd radio with remote, front door solenoids with remote, and more. Along with the 3-3 1/2" chop the body has been shaved, radius hood and trunk corners, extended front fenders with frenched '54 Buick headlights, frenched antenna, frenched '59 Caddy taillights, '54 Chevy 13 tooth grille, flared front fenders and sliced trunk with recessed 3rd brake light. The body has also been channeled 5" over a '69 Pontiac SJ chassis and has pwr steering and pwr disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. It is powered by a '77 SBC with 4 barrel carb, polished intake manifold, valve covers, alternator and plug wire looms. The air cleaner is chrome and the coolant recovery tank is polished stainless steel. The tranny is a '77 turbo 350 and came out of the same donor car as the engine that had 22k miles at that time. This Merc gets plenty of looks, thumbs up, drives and runs great. The water temp and voltmeter in the dash do not work, but I have a set of 3 gauges that go with car but will need installation. The speedometer works, but the odometer does not, so the actual miles are not known. I can give you a complete rundown on the restoration and body mods, so PLEASE ask questions before bidding.
