Listing a 1983 Mercedes Benz 300SD. This was bought for my daughter to use away at school in Austin Texas. The car has run flawlessly for two years until recently. It failed on her on the highway and she had it towed back to her apartment. I think the belts broke from the description and sound she described but I haven't looked at the car myself. I live 300 miles away and don't have time to go down and look at it. Plus my daughter is 2 blocks from work and now takes the bus to school. The car is near University of Texas in Austin, TX. Before it quit. The engine never burned oil and never smoked. The transmission always shifted well in all gears. All the windows work except for the rear passenger which works but doesn't go up all the way without help. The sunroof works flawlessly. The body is good with the exception of the right rear passenger door which has a side swipe dent in it. The paint still looks pretty good. The power seats still function properly but some of the little knobs are broken off and you have to kind of pinch it with the tips of you fingers to get some of the functions to operate. The AC is intermittent but the compressor holds freon and it was converted over to R134 before I bought it. Most of the time it blows through the proper vents but sometimes has the same old MB issue of not blowing through the center vents. 4 Brand new tires. Drives straight and the tires wear evenly. Leaks a little oil around the valve cover. Never leaked transmission or break fluid. I fixed a coolant leak last summer. New Glow plugs last summer. Body is very solid except for the 1 dent. No rust! Like I said before I do not know why it isn't running and someone will need to tow it away if they buy it. This is a no reserve auction and you are welcome to inspect it yourself. If you do you can arrange a appointment with my daughter on her schedule after you supply me with a name, verifiable address, and phone number. I don't want any creeps showing up and trying to intimidate my daughter. I'm selling the car not her. Clear title in hand and I will arrange to have it sent down to Austin to complete the sale.
