Vehicle Detail

1966 International Scout 800. This truck is now a 2 wheel drive low-rider with a 400 Chevy motor and 400 turbo transmission and only 2 miles since the build. The engine is basically stock with a noisy gear drive and some chrome and an Edlebrock carb. The transmission has just been installed and has a shift kit in it so it snaps in second gear. The chassis is mid 80's s-10 2 wheel drive shortened and dropped. It has blocks in the rear and lowered spindles in the front. Most of the suspension components are new. The tries are 205-40-17 Kuhmo in the front and 255-45-17 BF Goodrich in the back on some real cool rims I found used but in real good shape. The body was in rough shape and has numerous panels replaced with steel first and then a filler topcoat. The door handles are shaved and the door windows removed and filled. The top has been chopped 7 inches. I have fabricated and installed both front and rear roll pans. The front turn signals were removed and added to the headlight assemblies. The gas tank is new and is located between the cab and bed in an enclosure. The bed is a sectioned s-10 pickup bed shortened and coated with bed liner material. The hood scoop is custom fabricated and has the gauges installed in it. The radiator is a new 2 core which should handle a 700 horse small block. The transmission cooler is mounted on the firewall and has a cooling fan mounted to it also. Inside the Scout, the seats come from a Cavalier and the steering column is from an 80's s-10 pickup with tilt. There is a single hot-rod style overhead windshield wiper. All the lights work also. There is no heater or radio and of course no side windows. That is all the good stuff now for the rest of the story....... I bought this vehicle a couple of years ago and thought I would scrap it someday. I had some free time and thought about what I could do with it. As you know the proportions of the 800 are really hard to work with. The body is short and wide but tall and boxy. So I cut out all the inner panels and hung the body on a shortened s-10 chassis. It was soooo ugly. Over the next 7 months I chopped and shaved and beat and sanded and walked away from it alot. It has come together nicely and turns heads when its out. I get thumbs up and peace signs from multiple people. My feedback speaks for itself so now I will tell you my concerns with the Scout.-The paint is almost 1 year old and has never been wet sanded or buffed and it really needs it. -The body has putty in it but not to fill rust only to finish. Panels were repaired with metal.-The wiring in the dash is new but needs to be straightened out to look right. -It rides stiff and will spill your coffee.-It has a real low rear end gear and has trouble shifting to third gear.(even with the new tranny ) Because of this it tends to run warm 190 to 210 it always starts though.(It may need a different rear gear set like a 2.73 instead of the 3.55) The tranny should be fine then-The brake booster is not hooked up but it stops fine.-No returns-what you see is what you get. This vehicle is my baby and I hope you like it as much as I do.You can call me with questions 269-687-8098 Tim On Jun-14-12 at 05:32:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I just lowered the reserve to get a little closer to the bidded price.
