Vehicle Detail
We have had this truck for 12 or 13 years now in our small family Landscape company. It has been a great truck but simply don't use it enough anymore- The company has shrunk in size and gone more towards residential work rather than large scale commercial. Going to try to add another small lo-pro truck which should fit us better. It will sell today with NO RESERVE. Due to some past experiences, PLEASE contact me before bidding if you have less than 5 feedback! The truck is overall in good condition but used- never fails to start or work a full day, but has some dings, scratches, quirks, and signs of use. Runs, drives, shifts, and stops great. I believe the GVW of the truck is 48,000- 12,000 fronts and 18,000 rears. Has the Cummins N14 engine with a 9 speed Manual. Air Brakes. When we purchased the truck it was a cab and Chassis from star truck rental in Grand Rapids, MI. It was a day cab Semi truck that had covered many miles on the open road. When we purchased the truck it had nearly 450,000 miles. It went directly to Truck and Trailer Specialties in Dutton, MI, where it received a 20 ft Crysteel fladbed and Crysteel Lo-Boy 40,000 lb twin cylinder hoist. There is a Chelsea Air/Hydraulic PTO driven by the transmission. I have NEVER had a load the truck wouldn't dump. HEAPED with limestone and way over any sort of legal limits? No problem. The sides are 2' high 3/4" thick plywood with oak stakes. They are easily removable in order to load pallets, trees, or stone into the truck with a forklift or bobcat. The rear doors are barn door style that swing out and latch- you can dump big, cumbersome loads with no hang ups on the tailgate. All of our trucks are outfitted in the same fashion- it is a very useful setup and would be hard to ever go back to fixed gravel beds. The bed is in good shape but not perfect- It is a treated wood deck with 1/8" steel overlay- very heavy duty. The stringers underneath are all in nearly perfect shape- no signs of rust or structural failure. The outer side panels have a handful of rust holes as it is thinner steel- most the size of a dime give or take- take a look at the pictures to see. The bed is fairly clean but has some surface rust etc. It was repainted this spring when I did the rest of our trucks- looks good and ready to work. There is a heavy duty pintle hitch on the rear along with air brake hookups and a commercial round pin trailer light connection. I often towed a 20 ton airbrake tag trailer and it worked quite well in that application. The cab is in decent shape but shows it's age. Has some rust at the rear of the cab as you can see, but is otherwise solid. The paint is original to the best of my knowledge, although I have touched up certain areas. There are scratches, stains, and dings in the body. A couple of years ago I caught the corner of a pallet of stone in our storage yard when backing up (OOPS!!) and had to re-fiberglass part of the fender and it isn't perfect up close. Looks really nice in general still. The front bumper was repainted this spring as well when the bed was being done. The interior is fine but nothing special- Fairly clean and unbroken. Drivers seat is air ride. The A/C doesn't work- will need a new line and Receiver/Dryer to do so. I have noticed when using the truck in the winter that until it gets above freezing in the cab the gauges will reset themselves a few times, although I havn't noticed it this year. Has the Cummins N14 with a 9 speed trans- The engine was originally the 330 HP spec which was governed to 63 MPH as it was a rental truck. In 2005 or so the truck received a new fuel pump from Cummins and at that time the technician removed the speed governer and boosted the power output to 375 HP. This truck has great power and will move any load happily. Double frame. Has air ride rear suspension. The front tires are in great shape- nearly 100%. The rears are re-caps and mixed tread. Some are nearly 100% while others are probably down to 40% or so. Has big dual fuel tanks- I would have to say they are 75 gallons + each but don't have exact figures. Overall it's a solid truck that I wouldn't hesitate to drive across the country if needed. I have a clear title in hand and it's ready to sell- feel free to come check it out if you are nearby. We are located in Ann Arbor, MI- ZIP 48103. We are about 30 miles north of the Ohio Border and 45 minutes West of Detroit.
