chipiskingX5 Store FOR SALE: 1982 Central Texas, 300TD. I bought this TD last year from a Texas fellow whose dad owned the car. Because he was up in age, it has had very limited use the last 10 years. The beautiful body on this car( "0" RUST ) is a testament to the dry Texas weather. All original paint with beautiful shine( RR fender repainted @ some point). It has had 2 owners and spent its entire life in Texas. I bought this car with the intention of it being my summer project( I have summers off ). However, this summer's honey-do list prevents me from what I would prefer to do with my time. I've had it in storage for the last several months. Rather than pay storage till summer 2013, I will sell it to someone like myself who loves to tinker with these one of a kind wagons. It needs to be gone through & all maintenance done( fluids, filters, belts, gaskets, etc ). The only things I have done are change the oil & filter, & clean the very dirty exterior. I was not given any recent receipts for repairs, but the original maintenance booklet with early documentation is included. WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT THE CAR: Beautiful 100% rust free body( why I bought this car ) which is arrow straight Gorgeous paint work Excellent glass( all ) & rubber( except for drivers door ) Only 207,000mi( low for this motor ) The motor, trans & diff have been serviced with Amsoil( synthetic ) for many years Runs well Body excellent with just a few small dings & scratches Tires appear to be almost new AC blows ice cold Runs cool, within range 80-85C Headliner perfect Chrome & trim excellent Fuel filters changed recently( main, pre-filter & tank filter ) WHAT NEEDS ATTENTION: Vacuum leaks: If motor runs until warm, engine will shut off & door locks operable. If one attempts to shut down motor before warm, it will continue to run in off key position. Needs motor mounts Because car has been run on synthetics, it has oil seepage on the underside. At some point it will need several gaskets replaced( oil pan, trans pan & oil filter housing ) Tachometer does not work Rear gate shocks weak( new shocks in first aid compartment ) RR window not operable( switch, motor or regulator? ) Interior is fair-good( no rips or tears, but missing floor mat behind drivers seat & hairline cracks in wood trim ) Everything other than noted seems to work Here is a chance to own this rock solid, 30YO classic beauty for a very low price! All maintenance & repairs( 90% ) can be done by anyone with mechanical aptitude. Whoever buys this car will need to put some time into it( as I had planned to do ).
