1954 Riley RME Introduced in 1952, the Riley RME series were noted for their outstanding handling, torsion bar independent front suspension and rack and pinion steering giving 'a really comfortable level ride with a sureness of road holding which is quite outstanding'. An improved version of the RMA, the RME included an open propshaft, hypoid axle, full hydraulic brakes, and bigger rear window. Streamlined sidelights, the deletion of running boards, and the introduction of rear wheel spats were features of the 1954 model year. This is "survivor car" and is in excellent UNRESTORED condition. I am the 9th owner and have all of the original records including the original FIRST MOT issued on the car in 1954. The car was first titled in 1954 and was constructed in 1953 as per the British method of model year determination. The Riley has been maintained and driven for it's whole life and has less than 15,000 miles on a competely rebuilt motor. It runs sweetly, quietly, and doesnt smoke. The car is complete and everything works as it should with the exception of the electric clock. It comes with a supply of spares, such as filters gaskets and miscellaneous items. A workshop manual, and an extensive collection of the “Riley Record” going back for over a decade. The car drives and handles beautifully, and has been driven regularly. It has been sympathetically maintained and is all "correct". The Riley Society has an extensive stock of spares and all parts are readily avaliable. Please contact me with any questions.
