Vehicle Detail

RARE Ranchero GT with 351 and an AOD transmission. Unfortunately, the 351 is not the original Cleveland. Judging from the original manifold it is a mid 80's 351 from a pickup. It is tired and not a great engine, as many of you probably already know. The AOD is from an 88 Cougar and not hooked up correctly. It needs the lines replaced as it is leaking tranny fluid and therefore NOT DRIVEABLE! It will drive onto a trailer or tow dolly. As you can see in the picture it has an Edelbrock manifold and an HEI type distributor. It has a 4 barrel carb. Because this is a truck engine with the truck oil pan the crossmember has been removed. The car has some vaccuum issues including the hideaway headlights which reopen within a few minutes of engine shutoff. You guys know how rare the hideaway setups are and even the chrome strip around the grille is intact. Has the GT hood as well as the 351 and GT side emblems including the gills as pictured. The body is straight as you can see in the picture, but the paint job is poor. It will definitely need a repaint. The guy I bought it from put in new glass, new window seals, and new carpet. The passenger door panel is good but the driver's side has screws at the bottom holding it in place. I would recommend a new dash pad as this one has cracks from age. One nice feature of this car is the uncut dash where the radio belongs. It has a B&M floor shifter, a new cardboard panel behind the seat and new material covering the spare tire storage area. It has really nice taillights which are super hard to find in good condition. Bumpers are decent, but not show quality. Overall, this is a great candidate for restomod or to restore. As you can see from the picture it has side pipes but could easily be converted to any type dual exhaust desired. Tires are decent but not matching. Has 14 inch Centerlines. Feel free to ask any questions. I can also send more pics upon request. Wanted this to be a father / son project with my dad but realize that time and money constraints may be more of an issue than we first thought.
