Get Ready for Convertible Season!!! The R107 is said to be one of the best models Mercedes-Benz ever produced. It lasted from 1971 to 1989 and the classic lines are recognizable anywhere. If you are looking at this auction, you know how special this car is. Only 5,351 560SLs were produced in 1989. This car had a MSRP of $65,000 when new in 1989!! It is finished in beautiful Lapis Blue with blue softop and gray leather interior. Why am I selling this amazing machine? I am an auto enthusiast and at the beginning of the year had 13 vehicles, now down to 6 after selling a few......... after a hard decision; I have decided to keep another convertible over this one in my small collection. Why sell? I am looking to buy a used Ferrari F430, which is not a cheap move. This is my 4th R107 model and probably my 30th Mercedes vehicle. The R107 has always been my favorite. This car has always been garage kept, either at my home or climate controlled warehouse. If you are looking for a stock, unmolested 560SL, then your search is over!! Enough rambling, onto the pictures: I know how hard it is to buy a car on ebay, I have bought at least 10 cars on ebay myself. I will describe the 560 to the best of my ability in pictures and words. If you have any questions, please ask before the last day of the auction. Keep in mind this is a used vehicle and 23 years old. Onto the description: Exterior: 7/10. The Exterior has a 10 year old repaint which still looks good. The paint matches 100% and still shines well. No Rust! The door jambs and seams are clean. The trunk floor is clean and rust free. The chrome shines well. The alloy wheels are in good shape. The hardtop is in great shape, all glass intact and without haze, and matches the body paint 100%. The softop is Brand New!!! I get compliments everytime I drive the car. It looks like a $15,000 dollar 560 SL and is a crowd pleaser during cruise nights and shows. Interior: 9/10. The interior is in good shape. The seats are in great shape as you can see by the pictures. The dash and door panels are free of cracks. The hardtop headliner is in good shape. The softop is brand new. The woodgrain is in good shape. The carpets are in good shape and the floor mats are OEM Mercedes and only 3 years old. Mechanical: 10/10. Mechanically the Mercedes is in great shape. No leaks, no abnormal noises. Engine and transmission work perfectly. Very solid and precise down the road and a dream on the highway. Passed the strict Virginia state safety inspection! The Pirelli Tires have 80% tread left, brakes work very well. Drive anywhere! All fluids changed and services up to date. Electrical: 10/10. All the power options work 100%. The A/C is ice cold, heater works 100%. The power windows, mirrors, and antenna work 100%. The OEM radio works 100% (no aftermarket radio like all the others on ebay)! All lights function properly. All gauges work. As stated before, this car is the perfect cruiser!I have the owners manuals, two keys, the hardtop, and hardtop stand.
