I have a 1964 VW Splitty 11 window microbus in awesome condition for sale. Previous owner spent a lot of time and money making this into the "showstopper" that it is. I had planned on using this as a delivery bus for my shop, but have decided on a different look. So instead of chopping this up and repainting, I decided to sell and go a different route. There is very little wrong with this bus. The undercarriage is CLEAN. Even the battery tray, which is known for rotting out, is solid. The interior is in excellent condition with only 1 problem that I know of. Whoever put in the headliner got a little overzealous and sprayed glue on the roof vent. No rips, no tears, no stains, etc. It's all brand new. The stock middle seat has been replaced with a shorter one. The new bolts were sealed on the underside of the bus to prevent any rust or problems in the future. The bus has been converted to 12v and everything works as it should except for the horn. It doesn't work. I don't know why and haven't had a chance to look into it. It has a type3, 2l engine with dual Weber 44's that simply purrs. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this motor. I just got it back from RSR Motorsports. It was given a clean bill of health. I was curious as to the compression of the motor, so he did a check...135lbs in all 4 cylinders! It has a 4 spd. VW Bug transmission that shifts like it should. Absolutely no problems. This is a very nice bus. The odometer currently says 870 miles. I know that isn't correct, but I believe that is the mileage since it was restored. The paint is nice. I would give it a 7 out of 10. Nothing really wrong with it, I am just picky. The windows all have new seals, along with the doors. It has new tires on steel wheels with very nice chrome VW moon hubcaps. It has been lowered to give it a really nice stance. Earlier I stated that there was very little wrong with this bus. I know of four things. There is a small chip in the paint on the driver's side door, the paint is bubbling a little on the nose, the clasp on the drivers side wing window is broken, and as stated earlier, the horn doesn't work. None of these are major issues, but I wanted to be upfront and honest about everything. Once again, this is a very nice bus. It is a blast to drive, and we get looks, waves and lots of "thumbs up" from people everywhere we go. I have a clean and clear title in hand ready for the new owner.
