Vehicle Detail
I am offering for sale my 1964 Ford van with a high roof conversion. It has been my project the last few months, but have decided to get a 4x4. In the last few months I have replaced the motor mounts, hoses, belt, heater core, thermostat and housing, starter, solenoid, battery, cables, seat covers and put on a after market air cleaner. I changed the oil and filter as well as flushing the cooling system. It does run strong ( 289 engine ) and I have not seen any smoke out the tail pipes. It has dual exhaust, but could use a new exhaust donut gasket. It has an old three on the tree. It seems to shift through the gears fine, but the second gear likes to pop out when coasting down hill. It does not effect driving around, you can adapt or adjust linkage? I have not had a three on the tree before and this one seems touchy. Sometimes the shifter works good and other times I have to play around to get it in 1st. They make an after market floor shifter that works better than the three on the tree, or just put in a c4 automatic tranny. Anyway, I could go on about possiblities. To make it a daily driver it could use tires, rear shocks, plug wires and a radiator. The radiator leaks around the filler neck. The gauges, lights and blinkers all work, but the speedometer is not currently working. As far as the body, it is fairly straight. I did a little bondo on the nose. It has a speckled primer look, but need some finishing touches before paint. The front floor board is solid and the back has been coverd over with plywood before I had it. If you want it I will throw in camper supplies that came with it, but they are not great shape. The list includes stove, sink, water tank and bench seat that folds into bed. The bed actually has good vinyl on it, but I was going to make it a passenger van. It does still have the propane tank mounted on the van. I have incuded a picture of the propane controls. This looks to be an old school district van judging from the yellow paint that looks to be oringinal. It has new license plates and is registered through next year. You could drive it home if you live local, but because the tires are weathered I would recommend a tow long distance. In case your wondering, those are tree shadows on the back picture and pieces of carpet hanging for decor hanging in the high roof ( I can remove ) but above the cab in the high roof there is a storage. It needs a new small plastic vent cover up top. I have it taped off currently. There is also a crack on the windshield on the passenger side, but it is not abstructing view. You can see a slight white fog in the pictures where it is. the mileage on the odometer has probably turned over. I am trying to be as descriptive as possible. Please let me know if you have any questions, Thanks! On Apr-15-12 at 08:18:41 PDT, seller added the following information: First off I wanted to mention that the reserve is less than a thousand. Also the high roof is made of fiberglass with wood on the interior. The high roof could be removed with a few hand tools. It would make a great sun roof van or get new sheet metal and bring back to oringinal look.
