Vehicle Detail
I have owned this 1965 Studebaker Cruiser since 1991 and have spent several years performing an amateur restoration, including a new paint job, new interior upholstery and carpet. This is a nice looking car and it's perfect for car shows and Sunday drives. This car is not perfect mechanically, however does run quite nicely. Has power disc front brakes, automatic transmission, and power steering. The 1965 Studebakers were next to the last year of production. This car was built in Canada and has the GM McKinnon 283 V-8. These are solid, well-built cars and this one gets the "thumbs up" from people wherever I take it. The good: Looks really nice for a car of this age Won second place in its class at the Studebaker La Palma meet in 1992. Nice, smooth, quiet ride. Radio, speedometer and all gauges work (except clock) Tires have plenty of tread. The bad: Smokes quite a bit when started from cold. Once underway, doesn't smoke. Could use a tune-up. Transmission leaks fluid when hot. I replaced the brake booster last year but brake pedal can sometimes be spongy. Body is not completely straight, When I bought it, it had been hit in the rear. I had it repaired, but the rear bumper is not completely straight. You have to look closely to notice it, but I am trying to be completely forthright in the description. There are some small rust bubbles showing on the right fender, but are not that noticeable. I really hate to see this car go from my collection, but I'm forced to sell due to financial obligations. Also I just don't have the time to drive it that much anymore. Hoping it will go to a good home where it can be driven and appreciated. I am also listing this car locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I require a cashier's check for the full purchase price at time of sale.
