1979 MGB ROADSTER GREAT CAR Are you tired of paying high gas prices? This little baby gets close to 30 Mpg. This would be the perfect car for your son or daughter to drive back and forth to school or for you for great enjoyment or a daily driver to work. We did not build this to be a show car, but you could probably do so this is a good safe driving car. Please take the time to read this, I know it is long, but want you to know what a good car it is. We bought this car as a rolling chassis, completely stripped inside and out to bare metal and painted inside, outside and underneath for no rust. Then started building. This car has about 90% new parts. With about $14,000 spent in parts and the cost of the car we are about 20,000 spent. That does not include any labor. I have other projects that I am working on so this must go. ENGINE: The engine was rebuilt to .20 over. Pistons, rods, mains, new valve guides and seals. Installed new oil pump, and a double row timing chain and gear set. New cap, rotor, wires and plugs, new ignition coil new points and condenser for distributor. Air filters, oil filter, oil, and fuel filter. The engine bay looks good, everything cleaned, refinished or replaced. Original oil cooler and new hoses. FUEL SYSTEM: All new fuel lines were run, new gas tank painted with chipguard covering. This helps keep damage down from road debris and prohibits rust. A new SU Fuel Pump was installed and a new carburator and gas cap. BRAKE SYSTEM: All new brake lines were run. New brake rotors and pads, new brake drums, new wheel cylinders, new shoes and holdown kits. New stainless steel brake hoses, new brake master cylinder, new brake booster. CLUTCH SYSTEM: New Borg & Beck Clutch Kit, new clutch Master Cylinder and new slave cylinder and clutch hose. STEERING & SUSPENSION: Installed new King Pins, new steering rack, new tie rod ends. All front and rear bushings were replaced with new Prothane Polyurethane bushings to majorly improve the handling. New Armstrong front shocks and front springs together with new rear leaf springs and a new gas shock conversion really helps the car ride nice. No rattles or bumps. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: The harness is NOT new but was checked and retaped. Installed new wiper and new turn signal switch, new Hazard and fan switches. The gauges were cleaned and resealed. The speedometer was changed out for a NOS Smith Gauge with 0 miles. It now has close to 40. COOLING SYSTEM: We installed a new radiator, new water pump, new hoses, new heater control valve and new belts including coolant. A complete new muffler system was installed with all new hangers. WHEELS AND TIRES: The Rostyle wheels were sandblasted and painted. Installed new Sumitono Tires 175x70x14. There is also a spare in the trunk. All new wheel studs and lug nuts. New chrome trim rings and new MGB Center caps with badges. Jack and wheel brace in the trunk. INTERIOR: The interior is a vinyl autumn leaf color. The seat covers, panels, carpet is all new. We used black door pulls for accent against the black center console lid. New gear shift knob with MG logo, new gear shift boot and gator. The trunk has been carpeted with same color carpet with a carpet tire cover. TOP: The top frame was sandblasted and painted. New top was installed with new seal. There is a new black boot cover and storage bag. Sorry but do not have Tonneau Cover. PAINT & BODY: This car was taken down to bare metal and painted base coat/clear coat British Racing Green, inside outside and underneath. Rubber seals were replaced as well as door seals. A new set of security door locks have been installed with 2 keys. New door mirrors in black, new badges. We did not install a radio and have put a grommet in the hole for an antenna. Installed new inertia seat belts, new sun visors and new hood pad. Even new nuts and bolts were used in most cases. After this long description I am sure that there are many more parts not listed. I will accept a 1,000.00 deposit within 24 hours of auction close through Paypal. Remainder in cash on pickup. Will accept certified funds but check must clear before release of the car. Buyer is responsible for arranging pick up but I will help get it on the truck. Inquiries, test drives and inspections are welcome. I have this listed locally as well, so reserve the right to end listing before the reserve is met. So, if you want this car bid.
