Up for auction is a classic (last of the classic body style) Mercedes 560SL in very good condition that was donated to a national charitable foundation. As a staunch supporter of the foundation I also assist them on occasion with the liquidation of exceptional donated property such as this Mercedes. Since the Mercedes was donated it is being sold in as is and where is condition with no implied warranty or guarantee of condition. However, I will do my best to describe the general mechanical and physical condition based on my observation of the vehicle. My feedback is 100% because I’m a very detail oriented person and do my best to describe anything I’m personally selling as accurately as possible. This car has obviously been well cared for. It is very clean and in good to very good physical condition. The paint is exceptional for a vehicle of this year and looks to be “new” indicating a recent fresh repaint. It looks like a 9 out of 10. There are some signs of interior wear and tear as would be expected on a vehicle of this age, however, the exterior is very clean with no evidence of major dings, dents, or scratches. The soft top literally looks new and operates normally. All in all the car looks like it was garaged and detailed regularly. It runs and drives very well and also passed the stringent California smog test! Unfortunately, since it was donated there are no maintenance records or history. It can be viewed by appointment in Costa Mesa, California. Pick up is also from Costa Mesa, California which is located about 45 minutes south of the Los Angeles airport (LAX).
