Up for auction today is my 1992 Volvo 240. I had purchased this car a little over a year ago as a commuter car & it has served its' purpose quite well! It gets excellent gas mileage, is super reliable & has been a comfortable joy to drive. It does need some repairs, however & a relative has given me a Honda Accord since they just purchased a new car. I absolutely love the look & the comfort of my classic Volvo, but it must go. OK, I will try to list all I know about the condition of this fine car: THE GOOD:Super reliable, great on gas, runs very wellAutomatic transmission shifts flawlesslyVirtually no rust on the body of the car. Paint shines, floors and trunk are all very solid, no dents, etcClean interior. No major cracks, rips, etcTires are less than a year oldNew alternatorNew CD playerTHE NOT SO GOOD:Needs the power steering rack replaced. (Steering works, but is tight when turning right)There is an issue with the brakes. Possibly needs a new master cylinder. Brakes stop, but you have to press them to the floor.A/C isnt blowing cold.Muffler rusted off right at the rear... Its not very loud & I tried to bolt on a pipe, but it should be professionally fixed.Odometer stopped and then started working again right around 125k miles.... then stopped again. Mileage should be around 126k and can be confirmed with the Car History ReportThose are the good and the bad that I can think of.... Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. This is an excellent car that just needs a little work..... It is one of the cleanest 240's around. It is not perfect, but it always gets a lot of compliments & really is a classy car.
