Vehicle Detail
Also known as "The King's Rolls Royce" this rare Silver Wraith has the original drive train; 6 cylinder in-line engine, bore x stroke 92.08 x 114.3 mm (3 5/8 x 4 1/2 in), capacity 4,566 cc with twin SU carburettors; single dry plate clutch mated to a 4-speed gearbox. This is a running/driving vehicle with no major mechanical/electrical issues. All the brake lines and pads have been replaced and the car accelerates, turns, and stops as it should. This Silver Wraith was properly stored and untouched in a heated storage garage for the last 6 years. We were able to revive it effortlessly and get it in the current condition it is in now. The mileage displayed on the odometer is 73686, but it cannot be guaranteed that it hasn't rolled at least once. This is a rare right hand drive with coach work by H.J. Mulliner of London. I will try to be as honest as I can in describing the condition of the car. I would rate the overall condition of the vehicle as average. This is definately a 5 footer car. It looks great in the photos and from 5 feet away. Up close there are minor flaws in the paint, with paint chips/cracks hear and there. This is a clean titled car and there is no signs of frame rust or damage. There are however at least two half dollar areas where the paint has started to bubble. The chrome is in very good shape for a 60 plus year old car. The leather interior looks to be redone, with no cracks or tears. The electric partition window goes up and down as it should. The mechanical windows will need some attention, as it requires some effort to make them go up/down. The wood dash will need some attention/re-coating, there are signs of wear on the dash as noted in the pictures. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the car as follows: Exterior - 7 Dash - 5 Interior Leather - 9 Overall Condition - 7.5 The NADA classic car guide prices this vehicle to an average value of $26000 http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1952/Rolls-Royce/Silver-Wraith/4-Door-Sedan/Values Hemmings Classic Car guide prices this vehicle to an average value of $58800 (based on exisiting ads) http://www.hemmings.com/priceguide/check_prices.html I can help load this car on a trailer or you can drive it home (assuming you are within a 50 mile radius). We've been cruising this Silver Wraith around town, but have not yet taken it on long distance drives over 50 mile distances. If you are local or want to fly in, the car is available for inspection any time. This was my 70 year old dad's retirement project, but he has now set his eyes on new projects...his grand kids. The car has a clear California title in my dad's and my name, and we can show it any time. Car can be used for a limo service, promotions, winery tours, or cruise it around town and impress your neighbors. $1000 Paypal deposit required within 24 hour after auction end. International Buyers: PLEASE NOTE THAT EBAY DOES NOT OFFER BUYER PROTECTION FOR OVERSEAS PURCHASES. Please check the eBay/Paypal rules for your country BEFORE bidding. Remaining balance needs to be arranged through a Certified Cashiers Check, Cash, or Direct Bank to Bank transfer. The reason for this is because Paypal charges 3.9% transaction fee, plus the maximum that can be transfered is $10000 per transaction. I would prefer a local/US sale (due to recent bad experience), but I will remain open to international sales. Please call me BEFORE bidding if you want to talk payment arrangements. We can be reached via e-mail or by phone if there are further questions. Good Luck, and happy bidding. Vlad - (650) 799-2700 Arkady (my Dad) - (650) 271-2814
