1960 FORD THUNDERBIRD FACTORY SUNROOF. This is a California Black Plate car. Selling this for a friend. Ford only made approx. 2,500 of these FACTORY SUNROOF models, and for 1 YEAR ONLY. They are very rare and very desirable. This car was driven back from California in the 1970s, parked in the exact same spot where these recent pics were taken, and has not moved since ! Good, dry storage and the car has never seen salt, or an Illinois winter. Car is partially disassembled, motor taken out, but is at least 95% complete....possible more. The motor is the original 352V8 - 300hp. Comes with the original motor and transmission, plus an extra transmission. Also included is an extra intake manifold and carburetor. The wheels on this car are the original wheels. This car is completely rust free.....having never rusted in the dry California climate. I have thouroughly checked out this car in every nook and cranny I could reach, and there is simply no rust that has ever started. Pictures may not be the best, as the garage was hard to maneuver in, but will put on as many pics as Ebay will allow. This is an excellent and super rare car to restore, as you will not have to do any rust repairs at all ! One of the most solid, original 52 year old cars you will ever see. You will not be disappointed ! Color is Code K Turquoise Metallic, Interior Trim is Code 87 Turquoise & White. Seats will need to be recovered. Original keys and 1960 Thunderbird shop manual included. Odometer of vehicle reads 005xx, so one has to assume the true mileage has just barely exceeded the mechanical limits of the odometer.
