1954 Triumph Speed Twin 5T This is the model that moved Triumph to the top, and this is the final year for the factory rigid frame. Most of the older Triumphs that come up for sale are far from original. This bike was taken apart for restoration, but the project stalled and now you have a chance to own what will be a true collector's item. This bike is 95% complete, with only a few parts missing. On many of the parts, you can see the original factory paint scheme. In addition, there are numerous extra parts that were collected in preparation for restoration. This includes many extra small parts such as nuts, bolts and brackets. Rust is limited and of the surface variety, with one exception. The lower nacelle left and right sides have some rust damage right along the edge where the headlight rim attaches. It is a very small area, but worth noting. The other rust on items such as oil tank and tool box is surface only from having the paint removed and then setting the part on the shelf. In addition to the hard to find nacelle, the bike also comes with the sprung hub rear brake, Amal 276 carb with side bowl, fenders, tank, oil bag, tool box, chain guards, center stand, distributor, alternator, wiring harness, headlight with extra new rim, original speedometer, solo seat, and many other hard to find (AND EXPENSIVE!!) parts. The one notable missing item is the fuel tank bands and Triumph badges. Fortunately, these are frequently available through Ebay and other sources. The engine is apart, but the cases were not split and the flywheel and piston rods move freely. The head and rocker boxes look good, the cylinder block will need some work. The transmission appears complete. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to restore and own a correct Speed Twin 5T. This is a matching numbers motorcycle. The owner will receive a title and bill of sale. The parts will be carefully packaged in a number of boxes. The boxes can be shipped seperately or strapped to a pallet. If you choose to use a pallet, you will have to make arrangments to have the pallet picked up at the Salt Lake City, UT location. If you choose to have picked up by pallet truck, you pay for shipping. If you want the parts sent by UPS, the cost is whatever UPS charges to your location. I am very happy to sell to overseas buyers, but of course the shipping charges are more. Most overseas buyers arrange their own shipping on an item this large because they can get a better rate than I can find. There is no return on this item. Please look at the pictures carefully. Do not bid until you have had any questions resolved. $500 deposit and balance due in seven days via cashiers check. Item will not be shipped until check clears.
