Up for auction is a 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7. It has a 302 2V engine and automatic transmission.The car is in overall original condition only having one repaint in its lifetime. The engine starts and runs, the car will drive up and down the road but the brakes need gone through. The enigne runs strong and idles well but smales a bit out the tailpipes. The brakes are power disc, and the steering is power as well. The power steering works good. Horn, markers, tail lights, all work. I have not got the head light to come on yet but the bulbs could be bad. The headlight doors do come up with the vacum but need a little help shutting. The tires are new but have been sitting awhile. A couple of them still had the stickers on them. The wheels are in ok shape, trim rings have some spots of curb rash. Nothing that keeps them from looking decent though. The exhuast has a good tone to it. It is older duals. The body does not appear to have any repair done to it so the rust you see is the rust you get, no cobbled up messes underneath of the paint. The torque boxes will need some attention as pictured but the frame rails are excellent. Floors are also in good shape and are original. Overall this is an easy restoration project or just make road worthy and enjoy. I will post pics of the door tag tommorow. Any questions can be directed to my email. Thanks and happy bidding!!
