Vehicle Detail

1985 GMC Grande Sierra 4x4 Short Bed with 133,570 miles and in Original Condition! Numbers Matching~! Here is a true survivor. I am the third owner. The second owner was a dealer and owned the truck just 2 weeks. The 4x4 works perfect. This truck still has ALL its original General Motors body panels. No welding, no bondo, no new rockers or cab corners or fenders. None of that crap. This truck is presented just as she was born. The only paint that I am aware was redone is the passenger door. BUT remember this truck is nearly 30 years old so I cannot guarantee no other piece of steel was ever touched up. Can anyone really guarantee that!!?? In the last 60 days I have replaced the battery, had a life-time AC Delco Starter put in the truck. New front brakes, the transmission had a small leak so I had it rebuilt with new seals, gaskets and pump. It was reinstalled and shifts tight and perfect with no leaks. Both power window motors were replaced as well as the passenger door regulator. Also, all the bulbs in the dash were replaced. The fuel gauge as well as the internal components of the dual tank switch were replaced and functions perfectly. Both tanks! The vacuum lines on the carburator were also replaced and the carb adjusted, and the valve cover gasket were replaced and the motor has been detailed. Finally, I had the interior completely re-done with new General Motors OEM seat springs, new vinyl and fabric seat and pad, new dash pad, new carpet including the side kick panels, and door panels. The interior is done except the radio is missing and I was trying to locate an original radio but never did so it has no radio and the plastic housing around the old radio is broken. The bezels are $20.00. Also the old seat belts no longer match so I would replace them as well. The interior is awesome. Everything works. Tilt wheel, power locks and the clock keeps perfect time. The bottom of the truck is super clean. It has zero rust or undercoating on any part of the frame, and no rust on any door, rocker or bottom of the door. This truck is a true survivor. It has spent all but 4 months of its life is sunny California and it still sports its California black plates. I intended on painting the truck and making it a trailer queen but have a life-long dream to purchase a restaurant that just came on the market so the truck must go. I have receipts for everything. The tires have about 80% of their tread life remaining. The gaps on the fenders, doors, hood and box are all perfect. You can tell by looking at the body panels, and the body panel gaps that this trucks sheetmetal is ALL original. Now here is what the truck it needs. The front pinion seal on the transfer case leaks. Not a big deal but I want you to know. The windshield is not cracked but it has three chips. I do not believe in repairing chips because I can always see the repairs. The truck does NOT need to be repainted if you are gonna make it a daily driver, BUT if you want to make this a trailer queen that dominatres at car shows, then it should be repainted. HOWEVER, the body work is almost non-existent. The passenger door has a small dent. I profiled the door to show the dent in a picture. Also the passenger rear box has a very small dent below the wheel well. The truck also has a few scratches, BUT no rust. Not even surface rust. Also if I were to keep the truck I certainly would replace the body side mouldings and the front bumper has a small dent. The front bumper has no rust and is perfect as a daily driver, but again, I am trying to tell you everything about the truck and if you are making a trailer queen, the front bumper would need to be changed. BUT the hard mechanical and interior work is DONE!! We all know these go for $11,500-$13,500 when they are done. If you dont think they bring that kind of money go the Swift Brothers Collectors.com. They specialize in these and they consistently bring that money. And, they are just gonna go up in value. This truck is for sale locally for $7,350.00 or best offer. So at that price you have left plenty of meat on the bones to get the truck painted, replace the moldings, the windshield and a few things I may like that you do not and still be well below the $11,500 and up range!! AND you will have a truck with all its original sheetmetal!! This truck is completely numbers matching with the original 305 engine and Automatic Transmission. Please keep in mind this truck is NOT PERFECT!!! I have been clear of what is left to do on this truck. If this truck were done and perfect I would be asking $12,500. Winning bidder must send a non-refundable deposit within 24 hours after the auction in the form of a certified money order. The truck is garaged but available for viewing anytime before auction ends. Please DO NOT waste my time with low-ball offers. I will not even respond. ALSO PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE FUNDS RIGHT NOW!! Buyer is resposible for all shipping charges. Truck for sale locally and I reserve right to end auction early. This truck has been adult owned and driven. I have driven the truck on nice days for the last 3 weeks and get many compliments. The GMC short bed 4x4s always bring more money over the Chevrolet Silverados for two reasons. 1. A lot fewer of the GMC Grande Sierras were made than the Silverados and 2. When they were sold new the GMCs were about 10-15% higher in sticker price. So fewer of these exist than the Chevrolets. Thanks for looking! On Mar-14-12 at 14:09:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, when the truck gets up to 40mph there is a small whistle that is coming from the windshield on the drivers side bottom corner, it never bothered me, it's from the gas sealed membrane, as i stated earlier the windshield should be replaced. On Mar-15-12 at 10:25:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Also the truck has a brand new heater core..and the carburator needs mixture control solenoid they are about 25 dollars.
