This is my 1997 SL500 roadster. This Mercedes is beautiful inside and out and needs nothing. This car was a starmark certified Mercedes and the sticker is on the car to prove it. This car has been owned by the same family since it was brand new. Very well maintained and never smoked in. It has very low mileage for the year of this car(94000 miles). This Mercedes is midnight blue (looks black) with tan interior. The interior is also in very nice condition and has beautiful wood accents throughout the interior. All the features in the car work the way they should. This Mercedes has the Bose aucoustimass sound system and a factory CD changer mounted in the trunk and also has the updated 17inch Mercedes wheels which were optional for this year. The car also comes with the hardtop which is in fantastic condition and it comes with the optional windscreen as well. The windscreen looks like it has never been used at all. The oil was just changed using mobile1 synthetic oil and sticker is on the windshield says the next oil change is 98k. The brakes and hoses are brand new and the battery is a brand new bosch battery. The tires are in excellent shape and have many more miles left on them. You will not find another SL cleaner than this or better mechanically. The body of the car is in better shape than most two year old cars. The car is mechanically perfect!!! every feature in the car works the way it should. I just installed a brand new mercedes radio in the car as well . The car rides like a dream and the tranny shifts flawlessly and quietly. The interior has also held up well. The interior is perfect and all the buttons work. There is some slight wear on the driver seat (as seen in the pics) but this is nothing to worry about. The seat is very presentable. The passenger seat looks like nobody ever sat on it. The car also has the original mercedes benz floor mats which are great. The convertible top and roll bar function 100% perfectly. The whole system was gone through and the hydraulics were all serviced and changed. The top operates by only pushing one button. The hardtop is in perfect condition and the rear defroster in the hardtop works as well. The soft top is in good conditon and has no holes or leaks in the canvas, but the stitching has came loose around the small rear plastic windows and should be fixed at some point if desired. I know a shop that can do this for around a hundred and fifty dollars if your interested. But besides that the car is great and ready for the summer.This car is located in Brooklyn new york and can be seen at anytime during the auction. I advise all bidders to come and see the car and take it for a test drive. Its just such a great car and has so much power.
