I purchased this for my wife ten years ago to work on and to serve her as a daily driver and shaped to that end. I removed and rebuilt the engine, did an re-bore, fitted new pistons and renewed all wear parts.. Heads were professionally redone. We were lucky enough to source and purchase a NEW SU intake manifold from the famous UK specialist, Burlen and fitted it with the correct (3) e-type SUs (professionally rebuilt) and replaced the original Zenith manifold and carbs that were required in the USA in 1967. The cooling was upgraded with an aluminum high performance radiator by Ron Davis Racing. (This vehicle never overheats.) Distributor has been replaced with a Mallory Unilite. I replaced the cast manifolds with e-type headers..but frankly they need replacement again. The rest of the exhaust is polished stainless steel. I rebuilt the rear end completely with the shocks and the car has been repainted. Interior needs touch up work. I had the floor replaced with new Jag parts last year. All numbers match. It is a good driver or an excellent base for more as the e-type knowledgeable buyer will know that this is the most sought after year and variation. We found the correct seats and bought a (then) new interior and she swapped in the earlier Series I alloy trim. We have some of the original parts .in bad but restorable shape which is not part of this deal but will be thrown in for free. ..old console box and radio/speaker surround. From what I can research, the USA LHD 2 seaters had a unclear transition period from Series I to Series 1.5 when both headlight treatments could be found. So she bought both and the covered headlights fit.
