Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1977 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with only 48,000 miles on it, that was owned by Mary C Holloman ,the widow of prominent Washington DC attorney Delmar W Holloman. Mrs Holloman took delivery of this car new at Coleman Cadillac of Bethesda MD in may 1977 . Mrs Holloman kept every peice of paper ever associated with this car ,about 70 receipts and almost all of them document the cars mileage, paperwork is very important with a car this old because it is too old to be car faxed! Mrs Holloman saved the original bill of sale, owners manual, warranty documents, key blanks, copies of a few letters she wrote to the service manager at Coleman Cadillac complaining about paint defects ,improperly balanced wheels and a few other things. The initial complaint was that there were some marks on the pait ,and she insisted that the dealer repaint the upper driver door and the rear driver fender,I have the repair order from Cadillac as well .Mrs Holloman was also involved in an accident in 1980 that required the passenger side to be repainted,I have the insurance adjusters report ,the body shop report and invoice, and a copy of the check issued by the insurance company to pay the damages, and in 1980 the incident report listed the car as having 9,000 miles on the odometer at 3 years old! Since 1980 there have not been any more incidents or any other paint or body work, but the car has gotten a few dings here and there and the paint on the hood and trunk does not shine up as well as it should, the chrome is beautiful ,the vinyl roof still looks great and the front and rear fillers are still original, and aside from a tiny crack on the top of each rear filler they still look good. After Mrs Holloman passed away in 1994 her children hired a man to liquidate her estate ,and since her home on Kenwwod Avenue was sold for just under a million dollars they were not really concerned with the cadillac so the man hired by the Hollomans kept the cadillac and I in turn bought it from him. With only 48,000 miles on the odometer the car drives very well ,it starts right up ,runs quietly ,and shifts smoothly. Belts hoses and tires were recently replaced and I saved the Goodyear Vector tires that Mrs Holloman put on in 1984. The interior still looks new ,leather seats are still soft and supple and have no cracks ,it still has a really nice cadillac leather smell. dash and arm rests are not cracked ,wood trim is flawless, power antenna still works as it should ,car has a factory theft deterrent system ,illuminated entry, and power trunk pull down. If you would like to see the car or have any questions please call Andrew @ 516-398-1964 thank you for looking!!!
