In 1989, Dodge capitalized on the growing popularity of the specialty pickup market with the introduction of the Dakota Sport convertible. Dodge produced these convertibles in 1989, 1990, and 1991. In 1989 a total of 2,842 of these were built, 909 were built in 1990 and only 8 in 1991. This was the first postwar production soft-top pickup, and Dodge promoted it as "the ultimate fun truck". The Dakota Sport convertible has a fixed roll bar & an uncomplicated top that is manually operated with two handles that takes only seconds to put up or down. I am the second owner, purchased in 1994. I purchased with 92,000 miles. 120,900 Miles currently. Brand new brakes at 119,000 miles. 3.9 L V-6 Engine. Automatic Transmission. Power Locks and Windows. Power Steering and Brakes. Radio - Casette Tape, not factory, that was installed before I purchased the truck in 1994. Bed Liner. Cruise Control. Air conditioning works great. Deluxe intermittent wipers. Power steering. Dual remote outside mirrors. Fog lights. Spare tire and kit included that can be mounted underneath. Integral padded sport roll bar. 15-inch cast-aluminum wheels. Tachometer. Photos Speak for Themselves. Very Rare and Collectible. Always Garaged or covered. Couple of paint scratches, one on hood, one behind passenger side mirror. When I bought it there was a snapping Tonneau cover over the bed. Cover is gone but it is ready for a new cover if desired. One crack in convertible top frame. Very good condition, no rust. Seats are in great shape, dash has one crack on the passenger side. Windshield has a crack in it.
