Up for auction is a 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7-G. This car features a J-Code 302 engine, 4V intake, and automatic transmission. It is a very rare XR7G of which only 619 were produced, and of those 140 were J-coded small blocks. The car retains almost all of its original factory add-ons including the bullet mirror, Lucas fog lights, special hood scoop, and sunroof. The car is in need of complete restoration. It will need torque boxes, partial floors, partial rear frame rail section, and misc sheet metal to be put back to its former glory. The interior is complete, very nice steering wheel, dash is intact, original shifter with cougar inlay. These originally came with a console and this one is missing. I am providing a nice black console fromn another cougar to supplement the car. The interior will need completley gone through just like the rest of the car. It is an almost complete peice of american history. I am not sure of the true value of the car so In am setting the reserve at what I think is a fair price.
