The GT Hawk has a refined design going back to the original 1953 Raymond Loewy Hawk design. This car won its AACA Junior Award in 2002, a Senior Award in 2003, and a Preservation Award in 2006. It has placed First Place and/or Best of Show in local Studebaker Drivers Club shows. For at least 35 years, this car has been stored indoors and well cared for. The car has a 289 cid 2v V8 engine, chrome dress-up kit, power shifter, auto transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, AM radio, and factory air conditioning. It will cruise at freeway speeds. The odometer shows 29,960 miles which is actually 129,960 miles but the car is in great shape, inside and out. The exterior color was changed from blue to white and the original vinyl top is in great shape. The car was extensively restored in the 1980s and won a First Place award at the SDC Nationals in South Bend in 1983. There was an engine rebuild at 95,000 miles, done right, the car runs smoothly and does not use any significant oil. In 1989 the car was purchased by an auto museum where it was on display until January 2000, when my predecessor owner bought it and further restored it by brake work and seals. The car continued to do well on the show circuit. I acquired the car five years ago and have maintained and restored it further. I had substantial paint touch up done, and installed door NOS seals. The car is rust free. I installed rear Studebaker seat belts (front already in). I also had the air conditioner removed and completely rebuilt; works perfectly. Other maintenance (NOS parts) includes brake drums, complete brake job, including disc brake rotor, shocks, major tuneup, power steering pump, transmission servicing, battery, and alternator. Car comes with spare alternator and water pump. The car has 205/75/15 Firestone steel belted tires (SDC recognized superiority of steel belted radials and only deducts one point in shows) . An electric fuel pump makes starting easy and avoids vapor lock. This car is an eye catcher wherever it goes and is a joy to own. I am only selling it to move in another direction, a Tesla EV. The car has a realistic reserve. A 10% deposit is due within 7 days of the end of the auction, and I want to complete the transaction within 14 days of the end of the auction. PayPal is acceptable, or wired funds. Bidders should have positive eBay feedback. Thank you for bidding.
