Vehicle Detail
"The CT 70 KO is a BIKE that was DESIGNED FOR GREAT FAMILY FUN !!!! * * THIS BIKE RUNS GREAT !!! AND STARTS "FIRST KICK" Typically + Idles Down Very Nicely & RUNS AMAZING !!! * * The CT 70 KO is a Bike that Most Wifes , Kids & Non experienced riders would typically feel Far More Comfortable On than a full size traditional (much taller) Motorcycle ! The CT 70 KO is the Happy Middle Ground Between a dinky (tiny kid size) CT50 & a normal Bike. THERE IS A HUGE FOLLOWING FOR THESE AMAZING HONDA CT 70 KO's Since the Below Video / Sound Clip was filmed we changed the Oil, Cleaned out the Gas Tank and Installed new Fresh Gas, Cleaned the carburetor & Cleaned and Adjusted & Set the Timing of the Ignition Contact Points And it RUNS 1,000 % BETTER NOW !!! ....After all this...When I first took off it did a Big Cool Wheelie ! WOW What a Difference ...These are Really GREAT FUN Little bikes ! I am not 100% sure if this is a 1971 or 72 I looked up the serial number and I thought it said 1971 But someone said that the graphics on the bike look more like a 72 ...I would think other than the black Vs Teal Blue Graphics there should not be much difference in the 71 & 72 bikes at all. I really need to make space here ASAP so I just lowered my reserve to (Half of what I had originally listed this for !....about One / Quarter of what I have seen these selling for around here ! ....so there are some great sources for replacement parts & accessory's available for them ! * * * I just bought a Complete replacement set of 1969-71 body and frame Decal Graphics for her for only 29 dollars that I will be including "FREE" along with this Wonderful Bike ! * For Families that want to go & get their Wife and Kids out having fun on two wheels & also believe in "Achievable Goals" this may be the perfect Bike ! Millions of Motorcycle Riders First Started their LOVE for Bikes on these Great HONDA CT bikes ! The HONDA TRAIL 70 was designed for Great Family Fun. These CT 70's Have the Great HONDA AUTOMATIC 3 Speed Trans & Also These CT 70's are a FAR More Comfortable , FAR More Stable & FAR MORE Safe to Ride (if your Not a midget) than the dinky 50 CT for Normal size people riders & this bike Sports almost Double the Displacement with it's " FAR Bigger Displacement Super Simple Durable and Reliable "Single Over Head Cam" Motor (with a FULL 72cc VS Only about 46 or 47 cc of a ct 50) ! ..& Best of all... "This Beauty has ONLY 3507 MILES ON HER" ! Like All Early HONDA motorcycles the CT 70 KO is designed by HONDA to be Durable and Reliable....& FUN ! This Wonderful Bike has been in storage for several decades. & this past year it is just coming out of storage & returning back into service again...When I purchased it last year it started & ran well but from sitting so long before that I needed to replace the battery (which I just did on 3/2/12) with a BRAND NEW Battery (Please see pictures). & I also refinished the wheels & headlight & as well as the Tail Light / License plate bracket & frame & had my Best Street Rod Upholstery Shop Rebuild the seat "From the Frame Up" !, I also did some touch ups on the frame etc etc and on some of the graphics as well and as mentioned above...I just bought a Complete replacement set of 1969, 70 & 71 body and frame Decal Graphics for her for only 29 dollars that "YES" ...I will be including "FREE" along with this Wonderful Bike !...so if you ever wanted to replace any of the graghics You will be all set...I touched up the original Graphics but either way you would be all set.....I personally think it is a Very Presentable bike. Understandably this is a bike that has been enjoyed thru the years & understandably like most things in life it is not a perfect show bike or Concourse or a Museum piece or something ... but I think looks pretty Great for a 40+ year old bike !! . I also re-Candied & helped even out much of the frames Candy Red paint & I touched up the original Graphics a little as it was beginning to look a little faded etc on the upper areas mainly, I also installed new foam rubber hand grips. My Mechanic friend said the tires on this bike could be the Originals ?? They still have plenty of Rubber Tread still left on them & look pretty good to me. * * The Owners recently they sold my building I was keeping all of my classic Vintage bikes in ...I need to make space here ...So if you like a Great fun Bike ... you could make out like a bandit on this Wonderful FUN bike as my reserve is well under a Quarter what I have seen these selling for in recent years. The Bike starts Instantly & Idles down very nicely + Smoothly & actually Runs Great at Idle and lower speeds etc and Runs Very Nice all the way up the RPM Ranges !!! She feels like she has good compression as she is Smooth even at idle. It seems to have all of her lights and switches bit from sitting so long it would be a good idea to check all of the bulbs & contacts if you want to make this a street bike as this has been sitting in storage for many years & their may be a little oxidation on some of the contacts & or bulbs. THIS BIKE IS ALL ABOUT HAVING "FUN" !!! ....Few things in life are perfect and this Classic Vintage bike is no exception, if you need a perfect bike or want a Concourse bike or Feel you have to have a Show bike (something that you can never really use & really never have fun with in the real world ) please do us both a favor & Please look elsewhere (as for a bike like that you will be spending typically about $4,000.00 for a perfect specimen ...that unfortunately will be so nice you will never want or be able to really use it) & Or please feel free to purchase a $6,000.00 Brand New (Ultra Complicated & Painfully FAR More Expensive to fix & keep running "Multi valve Multi Cam four stroke" bike* ...a "want a be of this Classic bike" ...that will cost many times as much to keep running over it's lifetime as compared to this Legendary 1970's CT 70 KO HONDA Trail 70 ! Which is "FUN" & Far Less complex than this Vintage World Class & Vintage Collectable Bike ...This is a bike that will most likely be going up in value in the years to come ...instead of dropping "Like a Rock" in value like a new bike would ((because over time many new & Far More Complex multi valve 4 stroke bikes that are near impossible for the average person to keep running & therefore begin to Cost FAR more to fix than they are worth..& therefore become disposable)) ...like most any Brand New bike would eventually become a junk yard item.... Most all Experts in the MC Magazine trades still feel these Early HONDA Bikes can't be Beat for Durability, Ease of Maintenance, Reliability & ... Best of all these are so simple & cheap to keep running that they typically rarely ever require any kind of specialized tools to do the majority of typical engine maintenance tasks. Again, This has been in storage for many years (the Majority of her Life ) I believe possibly over 25 years ! I have just completed a little cosmetic Restoration on her & we are just returning this Wonderful Bike back to service again...I am not at all familiar with these CT 70 KO's But she seems to START SUPER EASILY & She RUNS GREAT !!! but as mentioned above...again I just drained her tank and cleaned out her carburetor & air cleaner & re-check the timing etc & SHE Starts fairly Easily and she Runs Great (Very Smooth & very Nice ) even at lower speeds & Idles down possibly better than most any Bike I have seen in years I think the more you run her she should run Better & Better overall & with a little checking over & believe all of the lights will light up again as these are very Simple Bikes...Also, I have never owned a Automatic shift motorcycle before & it looks like neutral is all the way up and you just press down to reach 1st, 2nd & 3 rd gear (you just move the shifter lever down for the other higher gears) ...I will spend some more time running her and trying to figure out everything as it appears to be very simple compared to most other bikes I have owned ...It does not have a key and I am just not trying to figure everything out on her.(IE) She does have a headlight and a tail light but I do not know how to turn them on??) ....As far as the Paperwork on this Wonderful Dirt Bike I will provide a Notarized CALIFORNIA DMV "BILL OF SALE"....Most Private property off road & Track & Pit Bikes and Show bikes etc. are sold with a Notarized DMV "Bill of Sale"... Again, having spent the last several decades in covered storage & being not being registered for many years this Wonderful Bike "IS" Currently is "OFF" the California DMV's Computer Records" & therefore ...This Wonderful bike should Not have any back fees because of this. Rest Assured...I checked this when I bought her... if you live here in California or any other state if would like to re-register it here with the DMV for any reason. Again, If you live out of the Country I will be glad to supply you with a California DMV "NOTORIZED Certified BILL of SALE" as I recently sent Three of my Vintage Collection bikes to the United Kingdom (England) and two to CANADA & another Out of state (to Arizona) that is all that they required. Please note: the License plate on this Wonderful bike I just added to help everyone see what it would look like with a License plate on it (& rest assured I will give it with the bike when you buy it) but again, it is from another bike of about this vintage my friend used to own & he was nice enough to give me the plate for this bike. Thank You, Good Luck and Happy Bidding ! Please Note: We recently lost all of our storage next door when they sold the building ..So the Bulk of my Vintage Bike Collection will be continuing to be sold off. I will be selling off my most finished bikes first as they are the most sell-able at this point & being in my Mid 60's I have to admit ...I am more of a Tinker-er than a Rider or a Collector at this time. On Mar-08-12 at 09:10:05 PST, seller added the following information: Hi Everyone , I just had an interesting email from someone that said these have a key switch, apparently along the last 40+ years someone decided not to keep it with this bike...as to Start her ... "You just turn the gas on put the choke from stop to Run & as son as you move down the kick starter.. & this Baby Always "Starts Right Up" Instantly ! ....Apparently the people that had this before me used this bike more as a day use or trail use bike. The emailer also said if someone wanted to wanted to they could just add a aftermarket on off switch for the headlight. On the bike at this time there is a High & Low Beam switch on the left handlebar next to the rear brake and left hand grip....So I guess the light mystery is solved. This is a Great Running Bike that idles down Better & Runs Smoother than most any other bike I have owned in Many Decades ! HONDA Really Made a FUN & GREAT Bike when they made these CT TRAIL 70 KO's & unlike nearly any other bike Novice Riders Feel very at home as for first time Riders ... these Just Feel Very Approachable & Very Do-able ! On Mar-08-12 at 09:22:49 PST, seller added the following information: Again, as indicated in the first few words of this auction... I am not 100% sure if this is a 1971 or 72 I looked up the serial number and I thought it said it was a 1971 But someone emailed me & said that the graphics on the bike look more like a 72 so this may have been made sometime in the 71 & 72 transition or ? ...I would think other than the black stripe Vs Teal Blue stripe Graphics there should not be much difference in the 71 & 72 bikes at all. The Extra BRAND NEW Graphic set I just received & I will be INCLUDING 'FREE" with this Delightful bike ...has the black stripe ...So I guess you can make it look either way if you wanted to. On Mar-08-12 at 14:04:47 PST, seller added the following information: As Promised: Here is a picture of the Extra BRAND NEW Graphic Set I just received & I will be INCLUDING "FREE" with this Delightful bike ...The Graphics set has the black stripe ...So, you can make it look either way if you wanted to.
