Vehicle Detail
Hi - There are 55 large images below. I just drove this car 75 miles today here in Arizona and enjoyed every minute of it. Starts right up and fun to drive. This is a rare final year production model from 1989 that is sure to bring back memories. This classic Mercedes convertible is a fun car to cruise around in. Both tops are present. The hard top is white of course and the soft top is brown. Please only bid after reading the entire ad. This SL is a cool and different car. It's a great deal and I am offering her at no reserve and starting at a penny. Yes, a ONE CENT auction. This car has spent most of it's life in WA, Newport Beach CA, Los Angeles CA, Hollywood CA and Scottsdale Arizona. Many positive attributes including an eight cylinder engine and an automatic transmission. A Benz fan should pick this one up, especially at this NR , no res , no reserve price. Both power windows work, the brakes apply nicely, the transmission even though it's an '89 vehicle seems to shift with typical Mercedes precision. The V8 has plenty of power! I really like the way it drives! This baby has an upgraded stereo by Sony with Compact disc and MP3 capability. This Benz sports an automatic transmission, has power windows, and both do work. I have two sets of keys, blinkers work, horn works, headlights too, cruise control works too, cd player too, power locks lock the gas cap, doors and trunk too, the tires all match and they are BF Goodrich Touring T/A's pro series on Mercedes chrome wheels. This car is cool, unique, has the classic lines of the 560sl and we acquired it as a trade from a new car store here in Arizona. I would keep it, but I have 2 other Benz convertibles in my garage at home now. I took quite a few pictures so please go over them and contact me if you have a question. The car is sharp, but it is 23 years old, so please do not expect perfection. The car has many highlights but here are a few lowlights: First of all please do not expect a Barrett-Jackson mobile. Realistic expectations need apply. I will be selling this nifty car as TMU (or true miles unknown). Arizona restored salvage title with Box C miles which means true miles unknown. I do not know exactly why the designation of prior salvage/junk concerning this car that the report indicates, but Arizona requires it to pass a state inspection to obtain the restored salvage status and this car has successfully achieved that. Again, I like the way she drives, and is a very cute car! This is an affordable way to own the most sought after 107 Mercedes series made. This baby obviously survived over the years, but will require some basic cosmetic attention if you are picky, such as a few paint chips/nicks/marks, drivers seat is worn on buttock portion, visors needed, soft top was rarely used and has a 4 inch clean straight tear (yes it's fixable), plastic belt trim covers are loose and some are not present, drivers door pouch needs purchased, a/c didn't feel icy cold. I'm trying to inform you of things so as not to have anyone regret buying this car. Again, I'm trying to be informative at the risk of possibly losing bidders, but at least these are things I would like to know too before bidding. That brings me to another point. This car will have other suprises too, some may be not great, some will be pleasant. Either way, please do not bid if you cannot live with the fact that it is a used car and it was not my personal car, and we purchased it a few days ago as a trade in from a new car store. So, all that being said, it will have other flaws, issues and needy items both unseen and seen and those issues will be your issues to fix and take care of. This is a neat old car that I hope goes to a Mercedes fan that appreciates it. You can drive for a long time and not see another 1989 on the road, your neighbor most likely doesn't own one nor never had one, it should rise in value over time in my humble opinion (and many others), it has the true makings of a desirable vehicle, and has that "it" factor that always gets the second look. Two guys came over to look at it while I was taking these pictures. Again, it's a cool car, but she's not perfect. No bidding then making demands please. Once you are the high bidder, you own it, so please be respectful of that fact by paying for her in full. My business is called Kendall's (in Phoenix Arizona) and this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION, please fully comply to ALL of the following statements in full: BUYER is responsible for ALL taxes, emissions and vehicle license plating (Arizona sales tax is 9.3% added to the selling price, and out of state buyers are NOT required to pay ARIZONA sales tax WHEN THEY HAVE THE VEHICLE SHIPPED TO THEIR OWN STATE VIA CARRIER. The wisest folks ship their cars across country. There are no warranties expressed and no warranties implied concerning this vehicle and with this purchase. This is an as-is purchase, if something needs fixing, you are the responsible party period, so if the car ends up "having a squeek, or needs a tweek" then you will be the one addressing any AND all issues. seen or unseen, remarked or unstated, either way the high bidder is responsible for any and all repairs. The buyer arranges and pays for shipping and the buyer will receive paperwork that must be signed/completed and overnighted back to us. Please no bid and runs. Buyer has 4 days to pay for this vehicle in full at auction's end and the vehicle will not be available for pick-up until the payment has fully cleared OUR bank. We will gladly store the vehicle up to two weeks for you (no longer than 2 weeks please, otherwise storage fees will accrue at $30 per day). No credit cards accepted. We are NOT responsible for errors or ommissions in the ad. Have a friend take a peek at her PRIOR TO YOUR BIDDING if you know of anyone in the Phoenix area. Wow, this is a No reserve , no res , nr auction. If she sells super cheap then congrats on your purchase! Please, please no bid retractions. It can ruin an auction. Thanks for looking at this 1989 Mercedes Benz 560SL and have a great day folks and happy bidding on this cool automobile ! Thank you!
