1996 Mercury Cougar XR7 - 2nd owner, Well maintained, Bucket seats, Shift console, 3.8 L V6, 176,600 miles, with Pioneer AM / FM/ Single CD radio and (4) Pioneer speakers (Original Ford radio and Mechanical service manual included). See photo of original window sticker for all standard equipment and optional equipment. Major brand oil (10W40) and filter changed at 5,000 mile intervals. NJ inspection valid through August 2012. Personally and professionally maintained. Replaced parts - Serpentine belt, upper & lower radiator hoses, Motorcraft ignition wires, coil pack, Fram air filter, Fram gas filter, cam shaft position sensor and synchronizer, crankshaft position sensor, MOOG driver side upper control arm, MOOG Front Strut Rod - Frame and Lower Control Arm bushings, EGR solenoid valve, Emission purge flow sensor and valve, Cylinder head gasket replaced at 142,000 miles, new ANCO wiper blades Current Issues - Check Engine light on - OBD II codes P0340 & P0430 , intermittent low RPM rough idle, automatic transmission intermittently mis-shifts and will need service. Right front fender needs clearcoat re-spray; since it has started to peel. Needs additional front bushings to stop front end rattle, needs front wheel alignment after MOOG suspensions parts were installed in November 2011, minor oil leak since 2005. The exterior and interior are in very good condition considering it is a 16 year old vehicle with high mileage. All other equipment is in good working order. Cast aluminum wheels have Michelin Hydro-Edge tires with ~ 36,000 miles, all windows and mirrors work and are free of cracks, AC works exceptionally well. Monroe struts and shocks installed in 2008, front disc brakes and rotors installed in 2007. Battery replaced with Sears DieHard in 2006. Windshield replaced in 2005. Car is still very drivable even with the issues identified above. Over $4000.00 invested since 2005. I have two other old vehicles to maintain, so this one must go! My loss is your gain! This vehicle still has more life left in it with some additional mechanical attention. KBB value in FAIR condition is > $2000.00. My price reflects its age and condition. Car is probably worth more in parts. Vehicle is being sold in AS - IS condition. I have as accurately as possible described this vehicle's equipment and current condition.
