Up for auction is a 1956 Ford F-100 1/2 ton pickup. It has its original 272 ci 2V engine thats runs well, and the original 3 speed manual transmission with shift on the column. The truck will start run and drive down the road but at this point would not call it roadworthy. It needs at least a set of king pins and an alignment. The brakes need some work. It has new shoes, wheel cylinders, and some new hardware. It has the original, or older, drums and needs the master cylinder replaced. I spent a couple hours bleeding them to no avail. They will get you stoped from a low speed, plenty enough to stop you while pulling it up onto a trailer. I had new exhuast put on it from the manifold back, it is 2 inch pipe with a glass pack muffler. Sounds pretty good for a single exhuast. It has a small leak from the exhuast manifold but nothing that stops it from running or sounding decent. The valve cover gaskets have been replaced along with the carb mount and intake gaskets. I replaced several bent push rods in the engine. They were bent from sticky valve. All the valves were lubricated and worked before the new rods were put in. They are all in good working order. Also replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. New oil and filter, water pump, and previous owner rebuilt the carb. The clutch seems fine it it. I replaced the starter, but it retains the original bendix. It starts most times without any trouble but every now and again the bendix will kick out. The brakes are 4 wheel standard drums and the steering is non-power. The frame is in great shape, it has been sand blasted and repainted in the last couple of years. The inner fenders are free of rust. The rest of the body parts are in good shape. Newer rear fenders, fronts are good originals, cab has had some patchwork done on the floor but is otherwise solid. Doors are in good shape, but the passenger side will need a new latch or one rebuilt. Bed is original and shows its age with ding and dents but is not rusty. The bed floor is treated 1x6's made to fit. They have not been stained. I have a tailgate that is in primer that goes with the truck. Rear bumper is a newer chrome bumper, the front is an original steel. Hood emblems are new, the mirrors are in good shape. The running boards have been repaired with diamond plate steel, its fine but not original. The steel wheels are older ford/KH wheels but are not original to the truck. I think that pretty well takes care of the body. Paint is ok if you want a "patina" truck. Its older and doesnt have much shine. Several chips, etc. The seat needs re-upolstering, no carpet, headliner, or door panels. Missing the passenger interior door handle. I will look for one to throw in with it. No heater box, blower, etc. As far as the electrical, the truck starts with the key, but other than that it needs re-wired. The headlights, tail lights, etc. do not work. The windshied wipers turned on but moved very slow. I have tried to describe the truck to the best of my knowledge.
