Vehicle Detail

1992 Dodge Daytona IROC R/T. Wow! RARE! 1 of 250 made in 1992. 181 made in 1993. For a total production of 431 in both years combined. This car was advertised as the fastest production four cylinder car in the world in 1992. It has an amazing 0-60 time of 5.8 seconds when completely stock. The motor is a twin cam, turbo 2.2 liter. It has a power output of 224 horsepower and 217lb of torque and a top speed of 150 mph. The Iroc R/T stood for the International Race of Campions. This was a series of four races of the best drivers in the world. The best drivers from Nascar, Indy, and Cart all competed for a title of the best driver for that year driving these cars. They had a Lotus tuned suspension and four wheel vented disc brakes. All of them had a 5 speed transmission. This one offered is Indy red. According to my research in 1992 you had the choice of Indy red, white, and Imerald green. In 1993 they added electric blue, and black. This car is offered by the Goodnews Mountaineer Garage. We are a non profit that is funded by the Department of Health and Human Resourses in the state of West Virginia. We take in donated cars and fix them up and then provide them to low income families. On occasion we recieve a car that is not suitable for a low income family. This is one of those examples. We received this car from a man who told us that he bought it new and spent several years in the military, mostly in the midwest. He used it for his daily driver. He started a family and didnt use the car for many years and kept it in the garage. He decided to donate it to us. The money recieved from the sale will be used to pay repair bills on other vehicles more suitable for our mission. This is a neat car and probably the rarest vehicle that we have had in our 11 years. After getting the car we took it to a local shop and had some work done to it. We installed a after market intercooler for the turbo. We added a new battery, starter, alternator, plugs and a tie rod. We had a new state inspection sticker put on. The car has the factory "Ninja" 16 inch wheels but one is missing the center. The air conditioner does not blow cold. It has many stains on the carpet and seats. It also has a few scrapes and also has a small tear in the ground affect on the front of the drivers door. It smokes a little when it is first started. I figure it has bad valve seals. The car spent many years parked. The car has 176,099 miles and they may change slightly because I will drive it this week. It seems to run better and better as I drive it. It is a complete car. Would be a great car for a father and son to work on or a great addition to a collection. If you do a search on the internet you can find a lot of information of these cars. It is estimated that only half the production still exsist today. The car is not perfect. Not brand new by any means. It is a 20 year old car. The donor said he had the transmission rebuilt about 15,000 miles ago but it was in the low 2000's sometime. I think the car is almost completely stock except for the after market intercooler that we put on it. The car is running and wet in the pictures, I had washed it and it was raining. I would encourage any would be bidders to come and inspect before bidding. The car is not in Charleston, WV. It is in Morgantown, WV 26505. I appreciate your interst and good luck bidding. Ron.On Jan-31-12 at 08:54:47 PST, seller added the following information: I wanted to answer some question because Im getting a lot of the same things asked. The original intercooler will not be included in the auction. The donor told me that he thought he could find it but he has failed to do so. The motor seems to have no blow bye. I have had a few die hard Mopar men look this car over and was pleased with its condition. I have continued to drive it around as told and found a few problems that I have addressed. I heard a rattle like noise in the front and replaced the sway bar bushings and links. I also failed to mention that I replaced the right front axle shaft and wheel bearing. The temperature gauge is not working. I replaced the sending unit but it still does not work. The speakers only work on the drivers side. Some people wanted to see the undercarriage so I took some pictures. The gas tank has a dent in it, doesnt seem to be leaking but I took pictures to show it. Some people also wanted to see how the newer style intercooler was mounted so I added that as well. We are a licensed dealer in WV. We can sell the buyer a temporary tag so the winning bidder could drive home if they had a valid proof of insurance. The title must be transferred to new owner. We are not able to give someone a open, just signed title. We are not willing to take a cashiers check for more than the purchase price and give the balance in return. The car will be sold so bid accordingly. We have no hidden fees. WV residents will have to pay the 5% sales tax and the $10 title fee. We appreciate the overwhelming response on this car and wish everyone good luck. Thanks. Ron.
