This car is a classic VW Baja Bug that I converted to electric. I used the most modern components. The car is extremely fun to drive and has great performance, ideal for a city car. The car also has a heater for colder climates. The only thing you'll need is new batteries. I suggest the LiFePO4 batteries from Sky Energy or Thunderstruck. If you want to buy the car but don't want to mess with the battery installation, I can install the batteries for you for a reasonable fee. Car Specifications: • Motor: AC-30; 3-phase AC induction ; 72-80V, 550A, 8" dia., 40 HP peak, 10 HP continuous, 82 lbs, 6000 RPM, 115 ft-lbs torque. • Controller: Curtis 1238, 3-phase AC induction w/ regenerative braking, 550A peak, 15 lbs. • Batteries: None. Your choice. Enough room for ~12kWh of lithium or ~9kWh PbA. • Battery Management System (BMS): Comes with a good BMS, but will need to be reprogrammed for your new battery pack • DC/DC converter: Vicor VI-M4P-EQ; 400W; 72V to 13.5V. • Charger: Zivan NG1; 10A, 1KW; 115VAC input; programmed for lithium or PbA batteries. • Heater: 1500W, 72V heater core; 3-speed blower; kit from Canadian EV • Drivetrain: Original 4-speed transaxle with clutch (only use 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and reverse). • Instrumentation: o 2-line digital LCD with serial input if you use a BMS. o Palm IIIxe with serial input if you use a BMS. o Spyglass (motor/controller): motor RPM, discharge/charge current, pack voltage, motor temperature, controller temperature, LED efficiency readout, regen indicator, error codes. o 12V accessory battery voltmeter o Speedometer • Other amenities: new carpet, new paint and rust-proofing, new door panels, new turn signals, replaced gas tank with custom trunk • Performance: up to 60mph on the flat, excellent acceleration from a stop. Excellent mechanical condition. Fully licensed and roadworthy. Used as daily commuter for 2+ years. Range with lithium batts about 50 miles. Range with lead-acid batts about 20-30 miles. Will throw in refurbished VW tow bar and Yakima roof rack feet.
