1996 MERCEDES S-CLASS S320 FOR SALE Needs Transmission (Also Watch Video Below) This 1996 Mercedes S Class - S320 has been a daily driver car and owned by us for over 5 years. This car was purchased from the 4th owner who cared for it very well. This car is a very comfortable car that gets exceptionally good gas mileage, approximately 24-28 MPG. Not bad for a luxury car! About 1 year ago the transmission began to slip and the cost of repairing it is more than we can afford. We were quoted $2500 - $3500 and just do not have the money to invest. We have since learned that there are many remanufactured transmission companies that offer this replacement transmission for about $1300.00 with a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty. Again, we just do not have the extra money to invest. That being said, this is an EXCELLENT purchase for someone willing to have the transmission replaced or repaired. (Transmission is out and in the trunk). The car run perfectely and according to the Mercedes mechanic who inspected the transmission, the motor is very strong and operating in excellent condition.
