THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION FOR A RARE 1969 IMPALA SS 427, DON'T HESITATE TO BID! ATTENTION COLLECTORS, AUTO BODYMEN, MECHANICS, SERIOUS AUTO ENTHUSIAST and anyone else who is not afraid to takle a diamond in the rough. I am selling my numbers matching 1969 IMPALA SS 427 bench seat, cloumn shift car with the Turbo 400 transmission and 36410 miles showing on the odometer (i beleive its past 100k). Also available is a 1969 Impala bucket seat, console shift car without the seats, console and engine drivetrain. Both are the Custom Coupe bodies. I have owned the Super Sport for the last 24 years and have never licensed the car. It has been a project of mine for all those years that I have not been able to finish. I no longer have a place to finish the car so I am forced to sell them. My loss is your gain. Here is what has been done for you already; ENGINE: The engine was rebuilt by the former owner right before I bought it and it was NOT licensed or driven on the road afterward. I was told that the engine was completely rebuilt and there is NO overbore on the cylinders because they were in very good condition and only received a mild honing. The stock pistons, rods, crank and cylinder heads were reconditioned. New rings, bearings, and freeze plugs were installed. A valve job was done and new push rods and lifters were installed along with a "Comp Cams" camshaft and a new timing chain with sprocket. The fuel, oil, and water pump were replaced. TRANSMISSION: I had the original turbo 400 rebuilt by "Dudley's Transmission" in Las Vegas, Nevada and a new torque convertor was installed. Most people into performance cars in this area know who he was and the kind of work he did. He was the go-to guy for tranny work around here. I installed new stainless steel transmission oil lines when I replaced the trans. DRIVELINE: The driveshaft was replaced new and the rear axle had a thorough going over with axle bearings and seals replaced. The axles looked very good for their age. Both cars appear to have the original axles. The 427 car has the original 12 bolt posi-traction rear and the other car has a 10 bolt. SUSPENSION AND BRAKES: I installed NEW shocks, coil springs, control arm bushings, and most of the steering components. I installed a new "HOTCHKIS" STAINLESS STEEL front sway bar (see pics). I did not do anything with the brakes and they were working fine however, I recommend updating everything because of the age. THE BODY: First of all, if you noticed the Grill is missing the "SS" badge, that is because it was stolen. This is the original "Blacked Out" super sport grill. The Headlamps are the original "T3" lamps. Note the white turn signal lenses, these were used on SS models. As you can see in pictures the left rear quarter panel needs replacing. After I got the car I noticed some uneven body work on this panel. After sanding down the body filler I found the QP had been poorly replaced so I removed it to get a better panel and do it right, which I never did finish. The right side has had a dent repair near the passenger door. The only rust issues I am aware of are the front fenders at the bottom by the rocker panel which I have repaired already. This is typical for these cars to have and it was not very severe damage. The other brown spots you see are only surface rust. The car does not have a front seat, engine wire loom, ignition switch and rear bumper. This car is an original Super Sport. I bought it from the second owner and I have documents to prove who the previous owners were. The holes for the SS badges and the original butternut yellow color is still on the car. All the SS options are on the car such as; blacked out SS grill, clear front turn signal lenses, fenders and trunk badge holes, front disc brakes, and the 427 engine. As you can see in the pictures (click link below) the engine code is "LI" which is the proper engine for this Super Sport with a turbo 400 transmission. The engine stamp matches the Vin number so this is definately the ORIGINAL engine. If you search the closed Ebay auctions for just the parts that are sold from these Impala's, you can see the potential money that can be made from parting them out. I have seen many 1969, 427 engines going over $4500 alone and this is a whole car for less than that. Where are you going to find a rare chevy super sport for less money than this, NOWHERE! KEYWORDS, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1972, 1974, 1975. 1976, caprice, super sport, SS, survivor, hot rod, rat rod, lowrider, donk, chevelle, camaro, skylark, cutlass, regal, Monte carlo, Cadillac , lincoln.
