1974 Mercedes-Benz 450SL 2 Tops Roadster Convertible!!! No Reserve!! Here is the chance to own one of the most beautiful roadsters that Mercedes-Benz ever made -1974 Mercedes Benz 450SL roadster! Few vehicles are as distinctive and unique as the 107 chassis Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Although there are other vehicles that are instantly recognizable - the Gullwing Mercedes, the '57 Chevy, and the DeLorean to name a few - there is no other vehicle so classy, yet affordable as a 107 chassis Mercedes-Benz. 1971 was the first year of this body style, and W107 chassis of the 280,350,380,450 and 560SLs was one of the longest running production bodies in the Diamler-Benz AG's line. It is also the first V8 powered two-seater to be built at the Stuttgart, Germany factory. Owning a Mercedes SL gives a person a real driving enjoyment and pride of ownership. When these cars were first manufactured, Mercedes-Benz adhered to construction methods that resulted in a standard that was the envy of the automotive industry. Every Mercedes-Benz model shared a build quality second to none. This Mercedes was purchased few years ago with the intention to do full restoration, but as the time that I need to devote to this car is a luxury that I do not have at the moment, I need to find her a good home. Before it was parked few years ago this car was running, but now, as it sat for too long it will need some TLC before she starts up again. Its original 4.5 Liter fuel injected V8 engine will start on starting fluid, but it will not continue to run. I am pretty sure that with fresh tune-up, fresh gas, and some things here and there it will start up fine, but as I don’t have time to do it, I am selling it as non-runner car! It does roll, steer and brakes with no problems. This Mercedes is a fun project, and it is perfect for somebody who wants to do a full restoration, and have a wonderful show car and the investment, OR for somebody who can fix it up to be their daily driver, and then slowly restore it to its full beauty at their own pace!! Best thing is, I am selling this car with NO RESERVE, and may the highest bidder win!!! Walkaround: White Paint is showing its age, but when re-sprayed back to its full glory this Mercedes will look stunning! There is some rust on the body, but nothing major (Please see Pictures). Floor boards will need to be fixed or replaced, but the good thing is that replacement sheet metal parts for these cars are readily available, and they are not that expensive. K&K manufacturing offers all sheet metal replacement parts at very good prices (http://www.kkmfg.com/index.php ) Interior is all there and for 38 year old car, it’s in pretty good condition. Original seats are in good condition and are comfortable and very supportive and door panels are in great shape as well. It comes with both Hard Top and Soft top. Hard top is in pretty good condition, and all glass is nice and complete. Soft top is operating with ease, but soft top canvas would need to be replaced due to its age. All in all it’s a very complete car, that can make a very nice and fun project, and great return on your investment!
