Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1938 Chevy Coupe street rod. This is a 1938 with a 1937 Hood and Grille. It was a 1980's built street rod and I have been updating it. This car has had many updates and only needs a few things more. This is a relist. Last time I tried a regular auction and I had too many watchers to keep up with emails well so I ended it early. I decided that maybe a reserve auction isn't the best way to go. I'm going to give it a try with a buy it now and consider offers in hopes that it cuts down on some of the initial emails. Details: 1938 Chevy Coupe with 1937 Grille and Hood 1964 Hi Perf (VIN to prove....* see details to answered question at bottom of auction) SBC Chevelle 327ci (vintage edelbrock SP2-P 4bbl intake, holley 4bbl, headers, double hump heads, etc) 4spd Saginaw Trans w/ Hurst shifter (Hydraulic clutch) Tri-5 Chevy Rear Corvair IFS frontend Mustang front coil springs Rack and pinion steeringNew Wiring Harness (Northwest Auto Electric) New Wheel Vintiques "Smoothie" Wheels New BF Goodrich TiresNew Baby Moon Hubcaps (Wheel Vintiques) New Stainless Steel Ribbed Beauty rings New Scarebird front disk brake conversion (uses S-10 brake components) New Dual Reservoir Master cylinder (Corvette Style) New Residual valves and proportioning valve (Jegs brand) New dash (Aftermarket style by Bitchin' Products) New gauges (VDO, black faces w/ white numbers) New seats (ProCar low-back buckets, fully recline, very adjustable, excellent look) New carpet New interior panels (vinyl covered) New grant steering wheel New interior door handles and cranks New Hidden Audio stereo system (USB and iPod compatible, able to add CD changer and Satellite radio as well) New Pioneer Speakers (4) New Flex-A-LiteMojave Heater defroster (needs water lines hooked up) New starter (Mini high torque starter) New alternator (1-wire)New Mallory Dual Point DistributorNew Holley 600cfm electric choke 4bbl carburetorNew Chrome Valve covers and Air cleaner New Performance Ignition coilAll new tune-up parts (plugs, wires, filters, etc) New fuel Cell (RCI aluminum brand)New Glasspack mufflersNew Lift latch seatbeltsNew Battery(4) cigarette lighter power portsWorking electric wipersSilver metallic paintPurple Pinstriping by "Calico" Car was a 1980’s build that I have been bringing into modern times. Paint is about 25 years old and showing some age and has a few rubs and dings, but still shiny for the most part. Car just needs a few small details taken care of to be finished. Seals and gaskets are all still very pliable. All glass except for passenger side windshield flat glass is good. Gasket is pliable and it would be an easy replacement. All steel body, fenders, and running boards. Nice driver quality car, that can be enjoyed as is, or with a little more work could be taken to the next level. The car runs, drives, and shifts good. It would be a great car to go out on the road. It doesn't have a back seat, so if you are a family man, this one isn't for you. The following tasks need to be done to be what I would consider finished: Seat belts need to be installed, Passenger side windshield flat glass has a crack and should be replaced. Dash has larger openings for defroster ducts. Gap should be covered with trim or garnish moulding extended downward. Fuel cell and battery hold-downs should be installed. Interior door pulls should be installed. Some door adjustment would help. The things that I consider to be bad: There is a rub on the front driver's side fender near the wheel well. There is some bubbling starting where the gas filler was shaved. There is a small quarter size area of pin-holing right at the rear bottom corner of the passernger side fender (about the size of a nickle or quarter). There are a few small dings and rubs else where. As stated the paint is 25 years old and this car was built to be driven and enjoyed. I am very critical of cars when selling them and my listings are in good faith. That's why I have excellent feedback. I will also include with the sale of this car: new pair of front performance shocks, New cast aluminum battery hold-down, a Spare Wheel/tire, any take off parts that I still have for the car. All in all, this a steel '38 chevy coupe. You don't see them too often with these upgrades. Heck, you don't see them too often period. It's a great driver quality vehicle that will certainly turn heads. It needs very little and can be driven as is while you attend to the little details. It is an easy one to take to the next level if that sort of thing interests you. If you are just looking for a cool 3-pedal hot rod, this one is for you. It's a really neat car, especially for anybody out there looking for a coupe. I can send a link via PM to serious buyers containing 4 pages worth of additional pictures.
