Description of Specific Product for Sale What is Included: 2009 Nissan GT-R Premium (sold for a dealer-discounted $80,770 in February, 2009) with the following options and extras + (1) Interface System for Apple IPod (+$400) + (1) Set of original OEM Nissan Carpeted GT-R Floor Mats (+$280) + (2) Original OEM Nissan remote control keys (wireless with emergency physical keys inside) + (1) Set of maintenance history + (1) Original window sticker + (1) Set of original OEM Nissan paperback documents (e.g. owner's manual, quick reference guide, service & maintenance guide, warranty information booklet) + electronic copies of the same on a DVD-ROM Also includes: + (1) Set of spare Nissan Front Brake Pads for the Brembo OEM calipers (4-piece set, Part #D1060-JF20C, +$659 but 50% used) + (1) 3M clear bra kit professionally installed on front bumper, front fenders, hood, grill, partial rear quarter & rocker panels, and mirrors (+$1200) + (1) Reverse Logic R35JPT billet aluminum jack pad tool (+$40) + (6) Mobil1 0W40 quarts of synthetic oil, as specified by the factory (+$40) Unfamiliar with the GT-R? I recommend that you watch National Geographic's Inside: Supercar ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irjdE9uGQMQ ) television show that details the GT-R's design, features and cult-like following and then visit the official GT-R website ( http://www.gtrnissan.com ). GT-R marketing is amazing, but justified -- even the Wall Street Journal praised it ( http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122478486701563157.html ). Condition: Very good cosmetic and excellent functional condition. Car has had its 12k mile dealer service completed and really needs nothing. The car has never been smoked in or spilled in. Matching Bridgestone Potenza tires are 50%-60% on all corners (6.5/32" fronts, 7/32" rears), have normal wear patterns and are nitrogen filled to 33psi cold. The wheels are properly torqued, brake fluid fresh and clear. It has no rust anywhere. The battery is constantly refreshed with a Battery Tender to ensure the battery is always perfect. The car is stored in a heated garage and I've only once driven it in the rain when I was caught in a sudden shower. The few times I've raised the car, I've used the Reverse Logic R35JPT jack pad tool to avoid scraping / damaging the underside of the chassis. It could stand a good wash, buff and wax, and minor paint touch-ups, but I've been happy with its appearance as it is (I feel better using it when it isn't spotless). Unfortunately, I rarely drive it -- perhaps 300 miles since May, 2011, when the car was last Virginia state inspected but this is a reflection of my work life, not the car. I recommend an oil and filter change in approximately 600miles. Warranties: This GT-R is under original factory warranty until February, 2012. If anything was wrong, I'd have it fixed for free, but it all works perfectly. In addition, there are separate, extended warranties as follows: Transmission drivetrain warranty to 5 years / 60,000 miles: The car was never launch-control (LC1) launched and the dealer updated the software for LC2. I believe the benefit is that this extends the transmission warranty and protects your car if you did launch it. I am unfamiliar with the details as drag racing doesn't really interest me and I've never needed warranty service. Read more about this on Autoblog.com. Instrument cluster to 6 years / unlimited miles: Nissan extended this GT-R's warranty due to illumination issues in the instrument cluster and audio head unit. Mine has never had a problem, but you get the added protection anyway. I will provide official documentation with the car. Imperfections: The 3M ClearBra is a lifesaver for rock chips, but is not as polished/smooth in surface finish as the original paint. It is also lifting slightly in a few small spots (e.g. along the lower edge of the front bumper, around inner edge of front grill). The car has never been in an accident with another vehicle or any other stationary object, but it did hit a truck bumper sliding in the road -- I have uploaded a copy of the police report to relieve any concerns, as this does show up on the CarFax. Basically, in 2009, the former owner was driving the car at ~45mph on a suburban road, closely following a Ford F150 truck. A steel bumper fell from the truck onto the road, slowing as it slid, and the GT-R owner was unable to stop quickly enough to avoid hitting the bumper. One edge of the steel bumper poked through the GT-R's front grill. The police were called, a report filed, and the truck owner's insurance paid for the GT-R's repairs, which included a new front bumper. The dealership performing the repairs was "very happy" for the expensive insurance work, gladly repairing and replacing anything imperfect. However, there was no frame, electrical, or drivetrain damage or any other such nonsense -- just cosmetic damage. Regardless, the car was repaired to as-new condition and has been driven ~13,000 miles since then without a problem. Matching VINs on all major body panels show that the car has never had a significant accident, so rest assured.Significant scratches on the car's left rear quarter panel and bumper, the largest is just left and below the left-most rear brake light lens. See the close-up photo. There are other minor scratches, abrasions and rock chips typical of a sports car with 16k miles, but insignificant. The OEM Nissan scissors jack was missing when I bought the car and is still missing. GT-R's do not carry a spare tire by design -- the tires are run-flat, so drive to a wheel/tire store if you need an emergency repair. I only use large hydraulic floor jacks and I advise you (or your shop) do as well -- GT-R's are heavy and inappropriate for scissor jacks. Liens or other claims: I own the car free of any liens, taxes or other claims and have the clean title in hand, ready for transfer. The car is currently registered and insured. Closing thoughts: I am a high-performance driving school (HPDS) instructor and I fell in love with the GT-R after instructing a student who brought one to Virginia International Raceway. I have a collection of nine sports cars of various vintages and marques, some are track-only and some are purely street -- this GT-R would be a perfect tool for either or both. I've never raced this GT-R, but have "exercised" it a few times and appreciate its surprising grace, power and civility around town. I am only selling it because I am making room for another toy. Unlike some of my other cars, this is essentially 100% stock and I can someday buy another just like it if I wish, whereas some of the other cars are truly 1-of-a-kind and irreplaceable, even if less expensive than a GT-R. However, if this GT-R does not bring a reasonable price, I'll keep it and sell something else. I welcome questions and personal inspections, but must demonstrate financial means prior to test driving. I have done my best to represent the car accurately and minimize your risk through disclosure -- please bid with confidence. Comparative Pricing: Not including the 3M clear bra, iPod adapter and extra spare parts (e.g. brake pads, floor mats, oil, etc.), as of 2012-Jan-09, Kelley Blue Book values the private-party resale value of this GT-R at $67,464. Feel free to verify via the graphic below, or by visiting KBB.com yourself. For reference, below is the original Nissan website quote, from which the prior owner saved $866 via dealer discounts: Original Product Features / Specifications --> Overview: This is the Mazda --> Additional Photos (above) Protecting against rock chips, observe the ClearBra material just ahead of the rear tires, outlined by a thin gray line on both the black quarter panel and the gray rocker panel. It is also barely visible on the side mirrors, but present. (above) Engine hood has matching VIN. (above) Minor, long scrape on front bumper near the bottom. However, the largest one is in the 3M ClearBra, not the paint. (above) Rear bumper has matching VIN. (above 12 photos) VINs match and all the panels at the front of the engine bay are as-new, with zero damage. (above) As should be expected of a used car, this GT-R has a few scrapes, abrasions and scratches, but by far the most significant is the one visible just to the left and below the left rear brake light. (above) The police report, dated May 10, 2009, reads, "[GT-R] Driver stated he was south-bound when he observed a man on the side of the road. He then observed something in his lane. He attempted to stop, but ran over the object (a bumper from vehicle #2 [the Ford F150 truck]). Damage was [GT-R's] front bumper, air foil and undercarriage. Vehicle #2 driver named Paul from East Brunswick, NJ 08816, whose vehicle was a 1995 Ford F150. I will provide an unredacted copy of this police report to the buyer of the GT-R. This was the GT-R's only "accident". (above) These are the 3M ClearBra pieces that were installed. Not shown are the pieces that cover the leading edge of the rear fenders and the trailing edge of the gray rocker panels. I don't have a graphic to better explain, so please study the car photos.
