NO RESERVE ON THIS GREAT EXAMPLE OF AN AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR!!!! I have a 96 Ford Mustang Cobra i'm interested in selling. The car has just over 90k right now. It in in great condition both inside and out. Hand assembled 4.6l DOHC V8 that makes 305 hp @ 5800 rpm & 300 tq @ 4800 rpm and rev's all the way to 6800 rpms! This motor features a forged crank from the factory and a boost friendly compression ratio of 9.85:1. Connected to this is a rebuilt Borg Warner T-45 5 speed trans and a 8.8" Solid axle 3.27:1 ratio w/Traction Lock. This was the first year of the dohc (dual over head cam) design. In order to retain the low end torque the 5.0 had been known for Ford engineers designed a dual runner intake manifold. Coming off the plenum there are 16 runners supplying air to the motor. Below 3500 rpms the IMRC (intake manfold runner control) unit keeps 1 runner for each cylinder shut to keep the air velocity up and only feed one set of valves per cylinder which in t. urn keep the bottom end torque up. Once the rpms exceed 3500 the secondary set of intake runners open up now feeding all 4 valves per clyinder as the the velocity of the air entering the intake manifold no longer needs a little boost to get the velocity up. This is how the engineers at Ford managed to retain the same low end grunt/torque as the loved 5.0 engine while making 65 more horsepower and almost 1000 extra rpms before redline all in a smaller motor! From the factory the cobra is capable of 0-60 in 5.5 and a 13.9 second quarter mile. Car comes with the following mods. Mac off road H pipe, Flowmaster cat back exhaust, SCT x3 tuner that's been professionally tuned, Pro 5.0 Short shifter, BBK 255 lph fuel pump, Luk clutch, FRPP Pedals, FRPP Aluminum driveshaft w/ safety loop, powder coated 17x8 Cobra R wheels, Slotted/drilled rotors and upgraded pads up front, Sony head unit, MB Quartz speakers though out w/ crossovers, Smoked tail lights and a Cervini Stalker kit. Car made 270 rwhp/tq (dyno sheet to prove it) before the addition of the H pipe. Should be up around 280 rwhp/tq now! The car runs great with out any issues. Rear tires have at least 80% tread left, front have over 95% and it just got an alignment 2 weeks ago. Serpentine belt was replaced a few thousand miles ago and alternator and rear brakes were done around 10,000 miles ago. Exterior has a few rock chips up front, drivers side fender does have a scratch. I'd give it an easy 8.5/10. Interior is great. Black on black leather. The only minor flaw inside are 2 pencil eraser sized wear spots on the drivers side seat bolster. Id give the interior an easy 9.5/10. I'm interested in picking up something else in place of it. It is currently a daily driver so the mileage will go up a little bit before the end of the auction. Title is clear and in hand! The cobra is for sale locally and i reserve the right to end the auction early to sell it locally. Car is being sold as-is with no warranty.
