I'm the second owner of this truck. The first owner purchased this vehicle off the showroom floor in San Jose, California. The truck was a family vehicle, used as a second vehicle all its life until the owner recently passed away. I purchased the vehicle from the wife, with the intention of restoring the truck. I have since moved to the California coast to go to school (Humboldt State University) and have found the ocean air will rust this vehicle quicker than anticipated, making it impossible for me restore it while living here. The vehicle is almost all original. Original glass, paint, dash, hubcaps, wood in the back bed, dome light, cigarette lighter, heater/ defrost, and even the original radio all work. The previous owner made two changes to the truck that deviate from stock - he converted it to duel exhaust and put larger side mirrors on the truck. He also put a new radiator in the truck. The truck is currently street legal in California - licensed and registered. No smog ever necessary in California. I've put a new starter in the truck and three new tires on it. I've also installed a fuel cutoff switch (pictured). The original wood in the back bed is mostly still in good condition, but the outside slats (nearest the bed walls) are half rotten and need to be replaced, but I still have those pieces in place. The engine is a 360, 8 cylinder. The transmission is automatic. The engine and transmission are both original (with the original blue paint on both), and work great. The truck was built in the Ford Milpitas assembly plant that closed in 1983. Again, the vin number is f10yrd36043 if you'd like to do your own research. The speedometer doesn't work past 50 miles an hour and the odometer is stuck on 77,000 miles. The truck rides great on the highway - going 65-70 mph with ease and grace. The previous owner said there were years at a time the truck was never driven, sitting in a garage, so it's hard to speculate how many miles the truck has on it. Everything fires right up - but you gotta choke her 'cause she's cold blooded. Lights and turn signals all work. There is no cancer on this vehicle anywhere. I've been on the coast with this truck for only 4 months. I have all the previous owner's records and documents, including the original owner's manual that I will include in the sale of the truck.
