Vehicle Detail

1958 Velocette Valiant engine serial number V200/1295. Not a lot of these in the U.S., or anywhere else for that matter. This is a small bike, weighing around 250 pounds and having a low seat height. With a top speed of around 70 MPH, it would be a fun bike for a run around town. This will make a great beginning for a ground up restoration since this bike is only missing a few parts. A photo of the engine number is attached. If someone will let me know where the frame serial number should be located, I will take a photo and also post that information. My research shows this to be a 1958 using the engine serial number, but I welcome feedback about more specific information about this bike. As you can see from the photos, this bike has not been on the road for some time. I do not know much about this model. It appears to me that the following parts are missing: tool box cover, front fender, and the two piece engine cowl. Replica tool box covers and cowls are available. It does have a new front tire and a new stainless front axle. The seat will need to be recovered, but the seat pan is solid although there is some surface rust. The rest of the metal is also very solid. The tank has some surface rust inside, but no heavy flaking. All of the engine components and drive compenents appear to be intact, but the buyer should assume that the engine and running gear will need to be rebuilt because it has sat for so long. And of course the cables and at least some of the wires wires should be replaced due to age and condition. Bill of sale only. Small Print Notice: OK, on to the disclosures. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions before bidding. What you see in pictures is what you are buying. If the buyer wants to pay the additional cost, I can secure a clean Utah title that will be transferrable (check with your State DMV). Otherwise, bill of sale. This is really old used stuff. If you don't know how to work on old British motorcycles and don't want to learn, probably best not to bid. I will ship anywhere, including Uranus, as long as their are no prohibitions and YOU have to pay for the crating and shipping. It is heavy. I will get a total weight posted as soon as possible. Using a company like Shippingmasters, the shipping charge is probably in the $500 to $600 range for U.S. domestic lower 48. If you are outside the U.S. it is expensive. I do not have a source for shipping overseas. My typical experience with overseas buyers is that they have arranged the shipping on their end. Yes, I am willing to sell to you if you life in Australia, but you will have to arrange for shipping. Thank you for your previous purchases. There is no return on this item. A deposit is due through Paypal within 48 hours. The balance is due in 7 days. If you are going to use a shipper and arrange for pick up, I am willing to hold the item for a couple of weeks until shipper arrives. Thank you for looking at this ad.
