Vehicle Detail

This car had it's original owner from 1965 until 2008. It was then bought by someone who is a collector of mid-60's GM cars. I bought it from him over the summer. I bought it with the plan to use it to take my wife and young kids out to cruise nights, the ice cream shop, etc... Since we've had it, we've only used it 2 or 3 times. We're just too busy, and the car just sits in my garage, so that's why I'm putting it up for sale. It has 130,000 original miles. To my knowledge, the engine has not been rebuilt or overhauled. It's a 425ci V8, 2bbl carb. 310hp and 390lb/ft of torque. 3 speed auto trans. It runs and drives amazingly well for it's age. Engine has tons of power, trans shifts fine. Steering works fine, though if you've never driven a mid-60's GM big sedan it takes some getting used to (imagine steering your living room couch and you get the idea). The car has had routine upkeep all its' life. The guy I bought it from also did some work on the car, such as suspension bushings, cooling hoses, fan belt, etc... That said, it's by no means perfect, hence my cheap asking price. Interior is in decent shape, but not great. Same for the body. It's OK, but it's not a show car. It's a cruiser. Minimal rust, as you can see in the pictures. Windshield does have a crack in it. However, in PA, I have it registered as an antique and it's exempt from inspection. The crack is down low and didn't bother me when I drove it. I've found new replacement windshields for under $300 if you wanted to replace it. Turn signals work, brake lights work, headlights work, horn works. There must be a chaffed wire somewhere in the steering column, because sometimes when you go to signal a turn, the horn honks. Engine doesn't smoke or have any funny noises, major leaks, etc... Window seals are there, but could use to be replaced if you wanted something more than a "driver" car. I've got several boxes of spare parts to go with the car. Extra body trim (not in great shape, but it's there and salvagable), misc parts, etc... I have the original keys and a copy of it's original build sheet. Also have the original spare rim/tire, including what I believe is the bias ply tire that was on it in 1965 (I wouldn't use it now, but it's nostalgic). The only thing I've done to the car since I had it was have a set of 5 seat belts installed. The car had lap only belts in the front seat. I had lap/shoulder belts installed. Two up front, 3 sets in the rear. That was done by a professional mechanic, not me, so it was done right. I've had this listed a few times before but had really bad pictures. I finally got the chance to get some good pictures this weekend. If you need more, please just ask. The best way I can describe this car is that it was an old mans' daily driver that has been retired. Wasn't restored, but seems to have been cared for, just showing normal aging for a car nearly a half century old. ***********PLEASE NOTE********** I don't want to sound rude or angry about this, but I'm politely asking to be sure you want to buy the car before you bid on it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask before you bid. The car was listed previously twice and sold twice. But the first buyer said he bid on a whim and got cold feet. While he was a very nice guy and we resolved it amicably, I'd like to be sure that if you bid on the car, you are 100% sure you're following through, especially since I'm not asking much money. The second person said he hit the "Buy It Now" button by accident. PLEASE BE SURE YOU WANT TO BID AND ARE HITTING THE RIGHT BUTTON. Thank you I'm setting the reserve for less than I have into the car. I don't need to sell it, and my kids want me to keep it. But it's sitting in my garage and I don't drive it, so if someone wants it, they can have it. These pictures were taken by the previous owner at his home right before I bought it.
