Vehicle Detail

I'm selling my classic 1982 Mercedes 240D, 4 speed manual, diesel car. I purchased this car just over a year ago with the plans of fully restoring the car to like-new condition; as the car is almost completely original, including the engine, transmission, etc. I have put over 15,000 miles on the car since I have used it as a daily driver and it has never left me stranded. Since my purchase I have invested just over $8,000 in restoration and have documentation of the items that have been replaced, which have been OEM or OEM equivalent parts. I have a copy of the carfax from when I purchased it and it is clear of any accidents or anything else. Like I have mentioned the car runs great and consistently achieves 30+mpg running on diesel, biodiesel, or vegetable/diesel blends (including WVO/SVO). The car runs great, reliable, does not smoke heavy like some diesels, and all tags and maintenance are up to date. The car is rust free everywhere too. NADA Value is $4,150 to $8,100, I am selling the car at a discount to find a new owner who will really treasure the car. --- FREE FULL TANK OF FUEL WHEN YOU PURCHASE THIS CAR --- I am selling the car because I recently graduated nursing school and no longer have extra funds to spare; also I need to sell my car to catch up on credit card bills that have been maxed out during my time in school. I truly love this car and want to ensure it goes to a good home where restoration, care, and enjoyment continues as this is truly a great vehicle and I have become very attached to it. The car does have 292,052+ miles on it, I am still driving it so mileage may be higher when you come to see the car. From my research, it appears I am the 3rd owner of the car. I have utilized Mercedes dealerships for some of its inspections and restorations and my expertise for any others . . . all routine maintenance has been performed on or before the required intervals and with Mercedes approved fluids & parts. The previous owner owned the vehicle the majority of its life, at least since 1987 . . . I have copies of many of its service records through that entire time up until my ownership showing it was serviced at certified mechanic shops during its time with that owner. I also have the original books, various printed materials & a Haynes & Chilton repair manual. The car has been very well maintained and I trust it to get me anywhere and back again. The car did have faded/oxidized paint on the top sections, so the surfaces were properly cleaned and prep'd, then a 10 year Avery light silver vinyl car wrap was applied, so the car is now two tone. The vinyl car wrap is in many ways more durable than regular paint, no special car needed . . . the car can be washed in mechanical car washes or hand washed with no worries. You truly have to see the car in person to appreciate it. As I mentioned, the car runs great. The power windows, radio, A/C, switches, etc all work great. Now for the bad: 1. The sunroof stopped working about 1 month ago, 2. The hydraulic locks do not work, so this simply means you have to manually lock/unlock each door just like a car without power locks, 3. The fuel gauge is accurate until it reaches ½ a tank . . . anything below ½ a tank varies in accuracy depending on the car's mood, 4. The car does have the typical mild oil leak at the oil pan, nothing major, but recommend using a drip pan so you do not end up with small oil drips on your garage floor . . . you are welcome to take mine if you buy the car, 5. The choke switch on the dash does not work, so you just have to give the car a bit of gas when starting it, 6. The door/headlight buzzer that is suppose to sound to let you know the headlights are on when you get out no longer works. So as you can see, very little issues . . . there are some rattles when you first start the car when it is cold, but they disappear as the car warms up when the idle becomes smooth. I am typically available to show the car in the evenings Mon-Fri, and most of the day Sat-Sun. It is hard for me to quickly respond while I am at work, so please be patient and I will email back as soon as I possibly can. I am willing to negotiate price if necessary, but please be fair, remember I have already spent over $8,000 in restoration alone so far, this doesn't even include what I purchased the car for nor does it include the routine care/maintenance. Thank you for your time, I look forward to speaking to you soon.
