Vehicle Detail
I have relisted this truck because I really needed to get it in to be professionally detailed and have the carpets shampooed. I didnt think I had the time to get it done and get new pics on before the old auction ended. I will say I should have had that done when before when we were still driving it because it just looks wonderful! The carpets came out great looks almost pefect. Pretty much the only noticeable wear on the interior is the driver's seat which you will see in the new pics has a crack on the side from getting in and out. 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4x4 4.6L V8.I purchased vehicle with 179k or so on it and a bad motor.Replaced engine out of late model wreck with 28k on it.Transmission had been rebuilt just prior to engine going and have reciepts for it.Many new parts just installed recently including:New brakes this summer on all 4 wheels.New front upper control arms/ball joints.New front sway bar links/bushings.New front struts and coil springs.Have new struts and coils for rear not installed but do come with truck.New Magnaflow stainless steel exhaust front to back including converters and muffler.Exhaust sounds sweet!New O2 sensors.I have spent about 2K in the last 2 months on parts for this truck. Now for the bad: It does have Control Trac 4x4 but it currently does not work.Only 4x4 low range works. On the advice from a couple online Ford message boards I have replaced the rear axle speed sensor as well the transfer case control module under the dash with no luck. The only other options are the transfer case shift motor or the actual dash board switch and I have not gotten either one of those. Both of those parts aren't too expensive. My wife found a Lincoln that caught her eye so the Explorer was put aside and I havent had the time to mess with it.The interior is tan leather and in good condition with heated power front seats. There is also a 3rd row seat that folds down for more cargo space. The paint is in average condition for the age with a few minor scuffs but no metal damage. There are 2 small spots on the front doors where the previous owner had decals and some of the paint came off with the solvent they used to remove them. The tires are ok with probably 30-40% tread remaining.Overall even with the high miles the truck runs and drives great and for a V8 gets decent fuel mileage. We have taken it on a few long trips and got around 25mpg on the highway and that was with the old exhaust system. I noticed an immediate increase when I put the new exhaust on around town but have not taken any long trips with it recently. Please dont hesitate to ask any questions about this truck and I will try to get some more pics of it after I clean it up some as my wife and kids have just moved out of it.The truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early if it sells locally. *********NO RESERVE!!!!********
