Vehicle Detail
I purchased the truck in 2002 and it was my everyday vehicle till this past spring when I bought a 2010 Ram. I originally planned on keeping the Dakota around to drive to work and keep the miles down on the new truck but that never really happened. Sitting around undriven seems to have taken its toll on the truck as it suddenly developed a power steering leak or something and that needs fixing. I just went out to start it and take pictures and it needed to be jumped and now it doesn't want to stay running, yikes! I think it's probably moisture in the fuel (its low on gas right now) or something, it was running perfectly fine a few weeks ago. Sometimes the ABS and brake lights are lit although they never were back when I drove it. I'm not aware if it even has ABS, I didn't think so. As you can see this thing needs to go before it crumbles into a pile of rust in my driveway. Enough of the doom and gloom, here are the good things! Always serviced by the local Dodge dealer and over the last few years it had new rotors, new battery, and the A/C overhauled. The tires have plenty of meat on them. The body is in decent shape but the roof has rust spots from scratching through the paint years ago on a tree branch. Still solid but rusted. The engine was running well and I'm certain there is nothing really wrong with it. The transmission is great and the 4 wheel drive works great. Never in a crash of any sort. Has aftermarket Kenwood CD player that can get Sirius. This is obviously a great opportunity for someone who works on cars in the local area. I want the truck gone before it snows and it's in my way and I frankly don't care any more what I get for it. I screwed up big time not selling it back in the summer when it was all perfect and stuff but my loss is your gain! I surely recommend coming to see it if your seriously interested but don't waste my time please. Your welcome to send me an offer to end it early but plan on having cash on hand. Title is clear and in my posession. Of course it is being sold AS IS! Inspected till end of December. Ask all the ?'s you want but I'm not a mechanic. Check my feedback and bid away!On Dec-24-11 at 06:41:47 PST, seller added the following information: Just a couple updates. I put some dry gas and some fresh fuel in the truck yesterday and it now starts right up, idles good, and this morning I drove it around the yard a little and it didn't stall. Still not sure I would attempt to drive it anywhere but....Also found some service records from last years inspection. At 121K miles the front brakes and rotors were replaced, rear wheel cylinders replaced, front shocks replaced. Thanks. On Dec-30-11 at 15:29:57 PST, seller added the following information: Took someone out for a test drive the other day and the truck is running fine now. Obviously just moisture in the fuel from sitting. Don't think it will be a problem at all driving it to your destination after purchase. Just a reminder to those bidding here at the end, this is a CASH deal as in $100 bills or similar. If you don't have the cash on hand please don't bid. Will also need to do the title at a notary if local as well. Thanks!
