This vehicle is being re-listed because the reserve was not met. I have lowered the reserve so it should definitely sell this time. AutoCheck claims that the title was a "lemon or manufacturer buy back" in 2003. I have a title that says "used" but nothing about being a lemon, please see the picture of it. Even if it was a "lemon or manufacturer buy back" 8 years and a couple hundred thousand miles ago, it has been a great car to me. The accident reported on 8/05/11 is the dent on the right front fender. The vehicle has recently passed the Tennessee Emissions test. RATED UP TO 41 MILES PER GALLON IN THE CITY AND UP TO 45 MILES PER GALLON ON THE HIGHWAY. 1.9 Liter, 90 horsepower, 4 cylinder, Turbo Direct Injection diesel engine. Front wheel drive, power rack and pinion steering, independent strut front suspension, track correcting independent torsion beam rear suspension, all season radial tires. SAFETY/DURABILITY: Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), daytime running lights, front and side impact airbag supplemental restraints for front passenger and driver. Adjustable front seat head restraints, rear three point safety belts and head restraints all three seating positions, child safety rear door locks, Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH), anti-intrusion side impact beams, front and rear power assisted disc brakes. COMFORT/CONVENIENCE: Air Conditioning, cabin air filter, cruise control. Both front power windows have one touch up and down from drivers side. Folding key with remote keyless entry, Power heated remote outside mirrors. Height adjustable telescoping steering wheel, front center armrest with storage. Seat back map pockets, adjustable intermittent wipers, front and rear floor mats, height adjustable front seats, split folding rear seat, dual front visor vanity mirrors with lights, rear reading lights, remote release for fuel filler flap and rear trunk lid, power central locking system. Tinted windows (drivers window has a couple of scratches in the tinting). SPECIAL FEATURES: 15 inch alloy wheels. Sony X-plod AM/FM single CD/ MP3 player radio with jack on the face for MP3 player, anti-theft alarm system. Leather wrapped steering wheel, heated rear window defroster, heated side view mirrors (right one not currently working). This car does not have a sun or moon roof (e-bay insists that it does) Current mileage is about 221,800 miles but I drive it often, so expect about 200 miles more by the time the auction ends. The exterior and interior are in decent shape for the age and mileage. There are scratches in the paint, a few dings, one dent in the passenger front fender. The finish is coming off of the driver's and passenger's front door pulls, steering wheel, and front center console, and area around the headlight switch and the headliner has small dark circles faintly showing. I have a lot more pictures, let me know if you want to see them. My favorite feature of this car is the grease burning fuel system. I installed a kit from Greasecar, and improved it by adding a resistance wire heater to the injector lines (see orange and black silicone tape by valve cover), insulated the tank in the trunk, and reduced the air flow through the radiator. I cut my fuel costs in half or more. Buy this car if you take long trips and want to save on fuel costs. Go to the Greasecar website to learn if this technology is for you. I have the original documents that came with the kit. This car can go more than 1,000 miles before having to re-fuel. The WVO tank can be used for regular diesel at the pump, biodiesel, or any mix of WVO and diesel if you live in colder climates. Also included is the engine cover, belly pan, an electronic copy of the Bentley manual, a printed Haynes manual, some touch up paint, about 15 to 20 gallons of WVO in cubies, 4 WVO filters, and a few other miscellaneous parts. This car has been my hobby for the last three years. I hate to see it go, but I am moving and have too many cars to take with me. I have a long list of repairs and upgrades that have been made. When I buy maintenance items (oil, oil filter, air filters, etc.), I try to keep the bill to about $20 so that I can build up rebate points at AutoZone. The oil has been changed more often than the repair list shows, but I can't find the receipts. I generally change the oil every 5-6K miles, earlier if needed. I always feel how slippery it is to decide if it needs it. The colder weather caused the code P0128 to trigger the check engine light to turn on, so I replaced the thermostat, and most of the coolant 12/10/11 @ 221,300 miles, and the Coolant Temperature Sensor @ 221,700 miles. I read up on this code on TDIclub.com, and found that VWs are picky about this condition. So if the car isn't warming up as fast as the computer thinks it should it will store this code. The code hasn't returned since replacing the Coolant Temperature Sensor, but I am still watching for it. KBB says this car is worth $4,505 in fair condition, and $5,355 in good condition (Private Party). I figure the WVO kit is worth at least half of what I paid for it at $700 (installed by me for free), the Bentley Manual $100, the Sony Stereo $100, Tinted windows $100. Block Heater $100 (worth its weight in gold). Battery, EGR valve, starter, and alternator all replaced in the last 12 months about $500. So, I figure this car is worth about $6,300, but since others haven't invested as much in their cars and are selling them for less, I will accept the first offer of $6,000, the reserve is set much lower. When I tried to fix the error, the whole description got duplicated, thus adding to the confusion. Sorry.
