Vehicle Detail

UP FOR AUCTION IS A LOW MILEAGE FUEL INJECTED, 1972 911T. I DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF HISTORY ON THIS CAR BUT WILL DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE IT'S CONDITION. THIS 911 ONLY HAS A BIT OVER 48K MILES ON IT. I ACQUIRED THE CAR FROM A LOCAL MAN WHO HAD IT STORED FOR SOME TIME. I MYSELF HAVE STORED IT INSIDE IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. I HAD PLANNED ON RESTORING BUT HAVE COME TO REALIZE I WILL PROBABLY NEVER GET TO IT IN THE REASONABLE FUTURE. I WAS TOLD THE CAR RAN WHEN I GOT IT BUT NEVER TRIED TO START IT AND JUST PUT IT IN STORAGE. THIS PAST FALL, I DRAINED AND CLEANED THE TANK, PUT ON NEW FUEL FILTERS, PUT IN A BATTERY CHECKED THE OIL AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. IT RAN VERY STRONG AND THERE WAS NO CLANGING, KNOCKING OR UNUSUAL NOISES. IT DOES LEAK OIL HOWEVER, ACTUALLY QUITE A BIT. IT EVEN LEAKED WHILE PARKED IN STORAGE BUT WHEN WE STARTED IT, IT BECAME OBVIOUS THAT THE LEAK WAS TO MUCH TO BE DRIVABLE WITH OUT REPAIR. NOT SURE WHERE THE SOURCE IS AND I'M NOT A PORSCHE EXPERT BUT IT SEEMED TO BE COMING FROM THE PUSH-ROD TUBES. I DRAINED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AND HAVE DONE NOTHING SINCE. THE ENGINE HAS NOT BEEN CLEANED OR DRESSED UP. THE PHOTOS, TOP AND BOTTOM ARE JUST AS IT WAS. THIS IS NOT A CAR YOU CAN DRIVE HOME. THE TRANNY IS FINE AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH AND BRAKES. TIRES ARE ALMOST NEW. THE BODY WORK LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN DONE QUITE WELL. I PUT A MAGNET ALL OVER THE ENTIRE CAR AND IT IS ALL METAL AS FAR AS I COULD TELL. THERE ARE TWO PLACES THAT I FOUND OF RUST THROUGH THE BODY - ABOUT A SOFTBALL SIZE SPOT UNDER THE PEDAL BOX (SEE PHOTO) AND THE DRIVERS SIDE JACK POST. THE FLOORS ARE VERY SOLID AND STILL HAVE THE EXTERIOR FACTORY UNDERCOATING AND INTERIOR TAR INTACT. THE ROCKERS ARE VERY SOLID ON BOTH SIDES. THE REAR VALANCE PANEL HAS BEEN DAMAGE BUT IS A SEPARATE REMOVABLE PIECE SO FIXING OR REPLACING WOULD NOT BE DIFFICULT. INTERIOR IS VERY NICE. DASH HAS ONLY A FEW CRACKS AROUND THE SPEAKER. HEAD LINER IS GREAT AND SEATS AND CARPETS ARE ALSO GOOD. SO HERE'S THE OVERALL: THIS IS A VERY PRESENTABLE CAR IN NEED OF SOME REPAIR AND MOTOR WORK. BODY IS GOOD BUT ALSO NEEDS FURTHER ATTENTION AND PAINT. THIS CAR NEEDS FINAL RESTORATION BUT IS A REAL GOOD CANDIDATE. THERE IS NO BATTERY. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. PLEASE CALL WITH QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE THEM. I'VE TRIED TO DESCRIBE THE CAR AS BEST I COULD. I WISH I KNEW MORE ABOUT THE CAR BUT DON'T. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT A CAR YOU WILL DRIVE HOME. 269-469-4281 ask for Anthony If you have a rating under 5 call me first or I will not accept your bid. If you are outside of the US please do not bid unless you call and we work out the details ahead of time. NO RESERVE......GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR LOOKING.On Dec-19-11 at 05:55:02 PST, seller added the following information: My Mistake! It's a 1973 not a 72 as listed. Vin designates it to be a 73 as well as the title. Sorry for the mix up. On Dec-19-11 at 16:35:15 PST, seller added the following information: OK, one more clarification (thanks for all the input out there!) This is not a fuel injected car but a carburetor model. The photos clearly show this. To my knowledge, the 911 T model came standard with carburetors except in the US for 1973. More than likely this was a European model which was shipped to the States sometime in it's life. I wish I knew more of the history as I mentioned but unfortunately I don't. Sorry for the confusion On Dec-22-11 at 06:06:18 PST, seller added the following information: Ok, I've had a ton of questions about whether or not this is a matching numbers car. The engine number is 6130730 This put's the engine in the same range as the vin on the car for 1973. I do not know how to determine exactly, but it apperas to be the original motor. On Dec-25-11 at 06:27:38 PST, seller added the following information: ATTENTION BIDDERS! IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE OF THE USA, HERE ARE THE TERMS: CAR MUST BE PAID IN FULL WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTION END WITH US FUNDS. CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF AUCTION END. I WILL NOT SHIP OR COORDINATE SHIPPING TO ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF THE USA.......PERIOD!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU CAN MEET THESE TERMS. I HAVE HAD TOO MANY REQUESTS AND TOO MANY QUESTIONS MAKING ME BELIEVE THAT SOME OF YOU JUST DON'T GET IT. SORRY TO BE SO BOLD BUT THOSE ARE THE TERMS. I HAVE TOO MANY U.S. BIDDERS WHO ARE WILLING TO BUY IT NOW WITHOUT HASSEL SO PLEASE RESPECT THESE TERMS! THANK YOU!
