octanevinylwerks store   For sale is  a 1989 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 16V   1.8L, DOHC 16V engine, 5-speed manual, 4-wheel disc brakes, Recaro seats   The car is in overall good condition but is currently not running.   I bought the car summer of 2010 as a project car, to restore, since the GLI model is becoming rare. This is one of the last body styles to be built in Germany   When I bought the car, it ran well, and I drove it several times, but parked it, and it has sat ever since   The fuel line at the rear of the car has a small rust hole in it, so it will need to be replaced before the car can be driven, which is about a $40 part   The shifter also has a vague feel to it, which is common in older VWs as the shift linkage bushings get worn. The car can be driven with the shifter like   it is, or the repair kit can be bought for a little over $100   The car has some small rust spots, which can be seen in the pictures below   There are two keys to the car, a key that fits the ignition and a key that fits the driver door. I do not have a key to fit the passenger door or trunk   The wheel shown on the passenger rear of the car is a spare; all four matching aluminum GLI wheels with center caps and lock tool are included   I have a clear title in hand for the state of Illinois   I have described the car to the best of my knowledge, and it is being sold as-is, with no warranty whatsoever   The car will need to be towed or trailered, which is the buyer's responsibility
