Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser; this thing is literally a 9.9 out of 10. It has been driven by my mother since 2004-she is the second owner. My parents are selling it because they are “Empty Nesters” with no need for an SUV anymore. It is in impeccable condition since there was basically no one riding in it but her. There are not many of these vehicles on the road and they are rarely available for sale. This is understandable, as it retailed for around $62,000 when it was new. For those not familiar with the Land Cruiser, it has a storied history. These vehicles have been used for over fifty years in the most extreme off road conditions. This particular model offers the best of both worlds; it drives with the civility of a Camry but has the capability to handle everything that Mother Nature has to offer. The V8 engine is refined yet responsive and the transmission shifts are so smooth you have to look at the revs to know it's changed gears. With full-time four-wheel drive and traction control, it is one of the safest vehicles you can drive. This is the third Land Cruiser that my family has owned. I spent two years looking for mine. In that time I have learned a lot about these vehicles. Indeed, there are a few of them on eBay with similar mileage but I’ve yet to see one that looks as good all around. That being said, I’m not a big time dealer or a car salesman; I’m only doing a favor for my parents. One thing I can tell you is that I’ve seen the way it’s been cared for. If you’re serious about finding one of these vehicles, this is the one you want! It has 142,000 carefully maintained miles. They just had all the maintenance performed on it (timing chain, etc.) so there’s no latent servicing that needs to be done. This one has every available option except the navigation, which is a good thing since it is basically useless with today’s faster “smartphones”. Also, it has the JBL sound system that sounds fantastic. In addition, I spent over 300 bucks insulating the door panels with Dynamat Extreme sound deadening material. I feel that this was necessary because the stereo has 8 speakers and 300 watts and after these improvements, there isn't a rattle to be heard! I would like to emphasize that this vehicle has never been wrecked. I say this because I noticed that on the carfax it shows an accident on 10/21. A girl backed into the rear passenger door in the supermarket parking lot. Rather than exchange information, she insisted on calling the police who filed a report. Did I mention that she started crying? Needless to say, one's abilities to negotiate are greatly compromised when your dealing with a weeping teenager in a grocery store parking lot. Long story short, I had the door panel REPLACED (no cheap bondo work) with a brand new one. Let this be a lesson to all; even if someone hits you going under 1 mile per hour and the cops show up, it's called an "accident". This is is a Land Cruiser from the southern states and it has the genuine burlwood trim which is in near perfect condition. It has not delaminated like a lot of them you see. The leather is in fantastic shape-it has always been treated with Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner and it shows! The carpets and floor mats look brand new. It's never been smoked in and my family has always maintained the "No food In the car" rule. All in all, it is simply an extraordinary vehicle. I should know-I drive one myself. I have sold all of my vehicles on ebay and I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Good luck and happy bidding! (225) 439-0222 jnauck@hotmail.com
